Stacking the Shelves # 43

Stacking The Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s ReviewsIt is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks.

From Amazon:

The Girl (Guardian #1) by Lola St. Vil
How to Date an Alien (My Alien Romance #1) by Magan Vernon
Every Little Piece (Second Chances #1)
Angel In Chains (Forever Yours #1) by Nellie C. Lind

From the Bookstore:

Double Clutch ( Brenna Blixen #1) by Liz Reinhardt
Teardrop (Teardrop #1) by Kate Lauren

I actually borrowed Teardrop from the library a while back but it was due back before I had a chance to read it. So... when I saw it at the bookstore, I couldn't resist getting my own copy. Now I can read it at leisure.

Okay! So what did you add to your shelf this week?
I'd really like to know.

If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers. But you have to know, the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

This weeks question:

Spring is in the air! Show off your favorite outdoors reading spot. If you don’t go outside...well where else do you read that isn't inside your house? We want pics!

Okay, so I live in the southern hemisphere, and down here in Australia, we are heading into autumn.
Therefore, my pics are of one of my favorite autumn outdoor reading spots.

My parents have a property out in the country. This is the view from their back veranda.
It's a great place to sit, relax and enjoy a good book.

My Swoon for this week comes from:

The Iron Knight
(The Iron Fey #4)

by
Julie Kagawa

First - The Blurb:

My name - my True Name - is Ashallayn’ darkmyr Tallyn. I am the last remaining son of Mab, Queen of the Unseelie Court. And I am dead to her. My fall began, as many stories do, with a girl…
To cold faery prince Ash, love was a weakness for mortals and fools. His own love had died a horrible death, killing any gentler feelings the Winter prince might have had. Or so he thought.

Then Meghan Chase - a half human, half fey slip of a girl - smashed through his barricades, binding him to her irrevocably with his oath to be her knight. And when all of Faery nearly fell to the Iron fey, she severed their bond to save his life. Meghan is now the Iron Queen, ruler of a realm where no Winter or Summer fey can survive.

With the unwelcome company of his archrival, Summer Court prankster Puck, and the infuriating cait sith Grimalkin, Ash begins a journey he is bound to see through to its end - a quest to find a way to honor his vow to stand by Meghan's side.

To survive in the Iron Realm, Ash must have a soul and a mortal body. But the tests he must face to earn these things are impossible. And along the way Ash learns something that changes everything. A truth that challenges his darkest beliefs and shows him that, sometimes, it takes more than courage to make the ultimate sacrifice.

Second - The Swoon:

"Ash." The word was hesitant, as if she wasn't quite sure whether I was real or not. "You're here. How." She blinked, and her voice became stronger as she took a step back. "No, you can't... you shouldn't be here. I told you never to come back. The iron..."

I reached out and took her hand, silencing her. "It can't hurt me," I promised. "Not anymore." She gazed up at me, hope and uncertainty warring in her eyes, and I softly touched her cheek, her tears mingling with the rain. "I said I'd be back," I told her, "and from now on, I'll never leave your side. Nothing will keep me from you again."

"How...?" she whispered, but I bent down and kissed her, cutting off any protests. She gasped. and her arms slid around my waist, pulling us together. I hugged her close, wanting to feel her against my body, to prove that this was real. I was in the Iron Realm and Meghan was in my arms.

There were not too many swoon worthy moments in this book, largely because the story is told from Ash's POV and is mostly about how he tries to gain a soul so that he can become human and be with Meghan. Nevertheless, it was still an enjoyable read and a great conclusion to the series. If you haven't read it yet then I recommend that you do.

My Tease for this week comes from:

The Iron Queen

(The Iron Fey #3)

by
Julie Kagawa

First - The Blurb:

My name is Meghan Chase.

I thought it was over. That my time with the fey, the impossible choices I had to make, the sacrifices of those I loved, was behind me. But a storm is approaching, an army of Iron fey that will drag me back, kicking and screaming. Drag me away from the banished prince who's sworn to stand by my side. Drag me into the core of conflict so powerful, I'm not sure anyone can survive it.

This time, there will be no turning back.

Second - The Tease:

My eyes watered, and my heart thudded in my ears. "Ash," I whispered again, clenching my fists in the quilt to stop the shaking. I knew what I wanted, but I was still afraid, afraid that I wouldn't do it right, afraid of the unknown, afraid that I would somehow disappoint him. Ash kissed the back of my neck, and I felt his arm tighten, fingers digging into my shirt. I saw a flare of color behind me, bright red desire, felt him tremble as he struggled to control himself, and all my doubts melted away.

I should stop here but I can't. This is such a sweet tender moment that I couldn't resist giving you a little more.

I shifted in his arms, rolling toward him so that he was propped on an elbow above me, eyes shining in the darkness. And I let him see the need, the longing, rising up like tendrils of colored smoke to dance with his. I didn't have to say anything. He drew in a quiet breath and lowered hid head, touching his forehead to mine.
"Are you sure?" His voice was barely a whisper, a ghost in the dark.

Yeah, although I like Puck, I'm definitely team Ash on this one. So loving this series.
