My Swoon for this week comes from:

Tease
(The Ivy Chronicles #2)

by
Sophie Jordan

First - The Blurb:

What happens when a girl who always calls the shots meets a guy who's too wild for even her?

A born flirt and good-time party girl, Emerson has never had a problem finding a willing guy. She's always chosen her hookups carefully, and she's never broken her three cardinal rules:

Never let them see the real you.
Never fall in love.
Always leave them begging for more.

Then Shaw comes along. A hottie from the wrong side of the tracks, he's immune to her flirtatious banter and come-hither smile. After rescuing her from a disastrous night at a biker bar, he doesn't even try to take her to bed—he calls her a tease and sends her home instead. Unable to resist a challenge, or forget the sexy, dark-eyed, bad-boy biker, she vows to bring him to his knees.

But instead of making Shaw beg, Emerson finds herself craving him. For the first time in her life, she's throwing out her rule book. Suddenly, she's the one panting for a guy she can't control—a guy who won't settle for anything less than the real Emerson and who forces her to do things she's never imagined, including facing a past she thought she'd buried.

A guy who just might leave her wanting more. . .

Second - The Swoon:

His hands lifted and slid over my tear-soaked cheeks, holding me almost tenderly. He looked troubled. There was no other word for it. "I don't know what it is you do to me."

I do something to him?

His voice continued, a dark little whisper rushing over my lips. "But I'm not going to fight it anymore."

As his warm mouth came down on mine, a jolt that felt like electricity shot through me. Along with that, a thousand thoughts chased through me as his lips pressed to mine, softer and more persuasive than I would have imagined possible from this hard-looking guy.

I could just step back. I could say one word. No. I could turn and walk back into the bar. He wouldn't stop me. Not this time. I knew that.

All of those options presented themselves to me in a single flash, but I took the only option I could. The only one there was.

I kissed him back.

I first met Emerson in Foreplay - Book 1 of The Ivy Chronicles. Room mate to Pepper and Georgia, she was portrayed as being a good friend with a wild side. In Tease we learn her real story.

On the outside - Emerson appears fun loving, carefree and as the name of the book suggests - is a bit of a tease. On the inside, she is none of those things. For five years, she's held a secret that only few people know, a secret which her mother denies happened and left her feeling that there was no one she could count on but herself. That is... until she meets Shaw.

Shaw... an ex-marine dealing with his own guilt, is not only 'Sexy hot' but shows Em that there is someone out there who gives a damn. Seeing past the fake facade Em portrays, he slowly breaks down her defenses and convinces her to let him in.

Like Foreplay, Tease is written in an ease to read writing style. Right form the start it draws you in and keeps you there until the very end. I'm looking forward to reading Wild (Book 3) - Georgia's story.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)

My Tease for this week comes from:

Foreplay
(The Ivy Chronicles #1)

by
Sophie Jordan

First - The Blurb:

Before she goes after the life she’s always wanted, she’s about to find the one she needs.

Pepper has been hopelessly in love with her best friend’s brother, Hunter, for like ever. He’s the key to everything she’s always craved: security, stability, family. But she needs Hunter to notice her as more than just a friend. Even though she’s kissed exactly one guy, she has just the plan to go from novice to rock star in the bedroom—take a few pointers from someone who knows what he’s doing.

Her college roommates have the perfect teacher in mind. But bartender Reece is nothing like the player Pepper expects. Yes, he’s beyond gorgeous, but he’s also dangerous, deep—with a troubled past. Soon what started as lessons in attraction are turning both their worlds around, and showing just what can happen when you go past foreplay and get to what’s real…

Second - The Tease:

His face was so close. I felt his square jaw, reveling in the scratch and bristle. He held himself still and I let myself continue to explore his face, tracing the arch of his eyebrows, down over the bridge of his nose, the well-carved lips.

They moved against my fingers as he spoke. "As long as you look at him like that he'll be yours."

I pulled my hand back slightly. "How am I looking at you?"

He settled himself deeper between my thighs. One hand slipped between my back and the mattress. With one flick, he unhooked my bra and tugged it free. "Like you want to eat me."

And a few quotes from Reese:

“I wouldn't have waited this long for you. I would have already showed up at your dorm the minute I decided I wanted you. I wouldn't leave until I convinced you that you were mine”
...REESE

“You can’t even see it. I’m the safest thing you’ll ever find.”
...REESE

Pepper is cute, a little shy, and very, very innocent. Infatuated with her best friends brother since she was barely a teenager but having absolutely no clue as to how to attract his attention, she heads off to a bar with her collage friends in the hope of acquiring some experience. Enter Reese.

Reese, the bar tender and supposed bad-boy, is sweet, sensitive and steamy hot. And like any hot blooded male, he is more than willing to teach Pepper all she needs to know in the art of seduction.

Of course, things don't go quite the way Pepper had planned. Or Reese either for that matter.

I really enjoyed reading Foreplay. It's beautifully written, easy to follow and ends on a note of happiness.

My Rating: 5 out of 5

TBR Tuesday #57 ~ Lash (Broken Angel #1) by L.G. Castillo

My good friend Sharrice from Reese's Reviews: My Addiction to Fiction came up with the idea of 'TBR Tuesday'

If you want to join in the fun, then just do the following:
From your book shelf or your e-reader, pick a book that you own that is still on your TBR list. Post it however you want to, then leave a link below so others can see what's waiting to be read.

This week for me its:

Lash
(Broken Angel #1)

by
L.G. Castillo

Decades after being banished from Heaven for saving a life he shouldn’t have, Lash is given a chance to redeem himself. His mission: protect Naomi Duran, a young woman who has lost faith in herself. The assignment proves to be anything but simple when his superiors, the Archangels, withhold key information about Naomi and refuse to restore Lash’s powers. When an unexpected source reveals centuries-old secrets, his trust is shaken to the core, and he begins to doubt those whom he had once considered to be his greatest allies.

Determined to avoid anything that would risk his chances of returning to Heaven, Lash struggles with the greatest obstacle of all—his growing feelings for Naomi. But when her life is threatened by an unknown source, Lash questions the wisdom of the Archangels and his ability to keep her safe.

Soon, Lash will have to choose where to place his faith—in the home he has fought so hard to regain or in the forbidden love he can’t bear to lose.

I picked this up a while back after seeing it on Bookworm Brandee 's Blog (Thanks Brandee for introducing me to this one). Why is it still waiting on my shelf?
The answer is simple. I. NEED. MORE. TIME.

SO NOW IT'S YOUR TURN!

Leave a comment and tell me what's waiting on your TBR pile.
