Here’s this week’s question:

Confess your blogger sins! Is there anything as a newbie blogger that you've done, that as you gained more experience you were like -- oops?

I've been blogging for about eight months now. At first I was just feeling my way, 'talking' more about myself and my book - Mystery Falls - then anything else. Were any of these oops moments - I'd like to think not.

As time has moved on, I've picked up many great ideas from fellow book bloggers. I now include memes, blog hops and reviews (Actually, I like to call this part - My Thoughts - rather than reviews). I hope that by doing so, I have made my posts a little more entertaining.

Swoon Thursday # 28 - The Mortal Instruments

The fabulous girls over at YA Bound created this super HOT meme. Here's how it works.

From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

Shout it out on Twitter with the hashtag #YABound, post it here in the comments, or grab the adorable button above and share it on your blog!

Okay, this will probably be my last post on The Mortal Instruments for a while. At least until Book 6 - City of Heavenly Fire is released.

In my usual order, I give you:-

The Blurb First:

The New York Times bestselling Mortal Instruments continues—and so do the thrills and danger for Jace, Clary, and Simon.

What price is too high to pay, even for love? When Jace and Clary meet again, Clary is horrified to discover that the demon Lilith’s magic has bound her beloved Jace together with her evil brother Sebastian, and that Jace has become a servant of evil. The Clave is out to destroy Sebastian, but there is no way to harm one boy without destroying the other. As Alec, Magnus, Simon, and Isabelle wheedle and bargain with Seelies, demons, and the merciless Iron Sisters to try to save Jace, Clary plays a dangerous game of her own. The price of losing is not just her own life, but Jace’s soul. She’s willing to do anything for Jace, but can she still trust him? Or is he truly lost?

Love. Blood. Betrayal. Revenge. Darkness threatens to claim the Shadowhunters in the harrowing fifth book of the Mortal Instruments series
.

 Second - My Thoughts:

Last week, I posted a swoon from City of Fallen Angels. However, at the time, I was only halfway through reading it so my thoughts were incomplete. Now that I have finally finished reading both Book 4 and Book 5, I will summarize my thoughts collectively.

This is an awesome series, no doubt about it. The story is absolutely intriguing. There are so many twists and turns leaving little time to get bored. I love all the different characters and the way they interact with each other. They're amazing!

Unfortunately for me though, 'Possessed-Jace' (City of Fallen Angels) and 'Submissive-Jace' (City of Lost Souls) didn't quite hit the spot. I liked his character better in the first three. I can only hope that in City of Heavenly Fire, all outstanding issues will be resolved and Jace will return to his former self.

My Ratings: 4.5 out of 5 for both

And third - My Tease:

"It's not your fault," she said. She kissed his cheek with the same tenderness he had showed her. She tasted salt---blood and tears. He still hadn't spoken, but she could feel the wild beat of his heart against her chest. His arms were tight around her, as if he never meant to let go. She kissed his cheekbone, his jaw, and finally his mouth, a light press of lips on lips.

There was none of the frenzy there had been in the nightclub. It was a kiss meant to give solace, to say everything there was no time to say. He kissed her back, hesitant at first, then with greater urgency, his hand stealing up into her hair, winding the tresses between his fingers. Their kisses deepened slowly, softly, the intensity growing between them as it always did, like a blaze that started with a single match and flared into wildfire.

This is one of the few scenes in the book where Jace is Jace, and it is undoubtedly, one of my favorite.

Teaser Tuesday # 27 - City of Lost Souls

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

As I am currently still in the midst of reading Book 5 of The Mortal Instruments and have yet to finish it, my post today will be brief. Just a small tease to keep you entertained!

City of Lost Souls

The shock of her words was like a pulse of energy zipping through his body, setting his nerves on fire. "You're not serious."

"Sure I am." She started to unbutton the shirt she was wearing, baring her throat, her collarbone, the tracery of faint veins visible beneath her pale skin. The shirt fell open. Her blue bra covered a lot more than many bikinis might, but Simon still felt his mouth go dry. Her ruby flashed like a red stoplight below her collarbone. Isabelle. As if reading his mind, she reached up and drew her hair back, draping it over one shoulder, leaving the side of her throat naked. "Don't you want...?"

He caught her wrist. "Isabelle, don't," he said urgently. "I can't control myself..."

Oh! Don't you like a guy who can't control himself?

For those of you who are well acquainted with this book, (and for those of you who aren't) you will notice that this scene does not belong to Jace and Clary, but to my second favorite couple in this story, Simon and Isabelle.

For my thoughts on this series and a swoon to die for, please pop back Thursday.
