My Swoon for this week comes from:

The Trouble with Goodbye
(Fairhope #1)

by
Sarra Cannon

First - The Blurb:

One night can change everything…

Two years ago, Leigh Anne Davis shocked everyone in tiny Fairhope, Georgia when she broke up with her wealthy boyfriend to attend an Ivy League university a thousand miles away. At school, she finds a happiness and independence she’s never known.

Until one terrifying night takes it all away from her.

With no place else to go, Leigh Anne heads home to reclaim her old life. A life she worked so hard to escape. On the outside, she seems like the same girl everyone has always known. But deep inside, she’s hiding a terrible secret.

That’s when she meets Knox Warner, a troubled newcomer to Fairhope. His eyes have the same haunted look she sees every day in the mirror, and when she’s near him, the rest of the world fades away. But being with Knox would mean disappointing everyone all over again. If she wants to save what’s left of her old life, she has no choice but to say goodbye to him forever.

Only, the trouble with goodbye is that sometimes it’s about courage and sometimes it’s about fear. And sometimes you’re too broken to know the difference until it’s too late.

Second - The Swoon(s):

Swoon 1

I'm breathless as his lips find mine. At first, there is only softness, an inhaling. Time stands still and I lose all sense of anything but the pressure of his lips and the growing flush of heat in my core.

His fingers tense against my jaw and I lean into him. He exhales, his breath warm against my skin. His tongue teases my bottom lip and I open slightly, letting him taste me. Tasting him back.

Swoon 2

"Then we'll take it slow," he says. "I'm going to listen to you and if you need to stop or slow down, or of you're just not ready yet, I'm okay with that. I'll never judge you, Leigh Anne. You don't ever have to worry about what I think of you or how I feel about you, because right now and for the rest of my life, I am going to love you with all that I am."
... Knox

I picked up The Trouble with Goodbye from amazon quite a few months ago not sure when I would get around to reading it. As you can see, it finally made it's way to the top of my TBR pile and all I can say is... why the heck did I wait so long.

It's an amazing story and touches on some very real issues. I loved the chemistry between Leigh Anne and Knox. They have both been through some very difficult times and deserve to have a HEA.

My Rating: 5 out of 5

Teaser Tuesday #104 ~ Winter (Four Seasons #1) by Nikita Rae

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Tease for this week comes from:

Winter
(Four Seasons #1)

by
Nikita Rae

First - The Blurb:

A girl with a dark history…

Avery Bresllin took a leap of faith when she changed her name. As Avery Patterson, she is no longer the daughter of a serial killer. No longer the girl who was bullied and abused through high school. A fresh name and a fresh start at Columbia University means Avery can leave all that behind. There’s only one thing marring her dream of a clean slate….

A boy with a past of his own…

Luke Reid has a lot going for him: sex appeal, badass tattoos and insane musical talent. Despite his guitar skills, his calling in life has always been to serve and protect. A NYPD cop by day, singer in rock band D.M.F by night, from the outside Luke seems like he’s got it made. But falling for a girl whose father was accused of deeply sinister acts—a man whom Luke shared a devastating history with, himself—only serves to complicated things.

Pieces of a puzzle….

Four symbols, four methods of destruction.

A trade.

Borrowed wings.

Dark secrets that threaten to destroy

Second - The Tease:

The moment he gives in is like a wall crumbling between us. A fierce intensity changes the way he looks at me. Concern and uncertainty transform into hunger. He growls and sits up to crush his mouth to mine. My head spins as he wrestles with the bottom of my shirt; he rips it clean off and presses his powerful hands into my back so that I fall forward against him. His fingers work quickly at the clasp of my bra and I claw the straps over my shoulders in my hurry to get it off.

"This is such a bad f***ing idea," he says, his voice hoarse. "I don't want you to hate me."

"I'm not going to hate you, Luke. I need you. I need you right now."

Luke is an amazing guy. He's sensitive, caring and he adores Avery with a passion.

"The first thing you should know is that I'm in love with you, Avery. You know I am."

I can sum this up pretty quick. This is an amazing read. Definitely one to add to your TBR pile if you're into New Adult Contemporary.

'Sad face' - Book 2 - Summer - isn't due for release until November 2014.

My Rating: 5 out of 5

TBR Tuesday #59 ~ Last train Home (Home #1) by Megan Nugen Isbell

My good friend Sharrice from Reese's Reviews: My Addiction to Fiction came up with the idea of 'TBR Tuesday'

If you want to join in the fun, then just do the following:
From your book shelf or your e-reader, pick a book that you own that is still on your TBR list. Post it however you want to, then leave a link below so others can see what's waiting to be read.

This week for me its:

Last Train Home
(Home #1)

by
Megan Nugen Isbell

17-year-old Riley Regas has spent her entire life in Boston, so when she learns she’ll be picking up and moving to her mother’s childhood home of Carver, Kansas, she is less than thrilled. In fact, she is downright furious. Riley’s only visited Carver a handful of times. She barely knows her family that lives there and she has no desire to spend her senior year among the backward, simpleminded residents of Carver.

Reluctantly though, her views begin to change, despite her encounters with Adrienne, a girl Riley quickly realizes is determined to make her life miserable, when she meets Alex Bettencourt. Alex is popular and gorgeous and Riley’s never seen brown eyes quite like his before.

While Riley couldn’t be happier, she knows Jesse, her best friend in Carver, isn’t sure of her new relationship with Alex. She soon finds a balance between Alex and her friends though and life in Carver doesn’t seem so bad after all, even if her relationship with her mother is rocky at best.

Just when Riley thinks she might be happy in Carver, a single decision changes it all, leaving her to find out who she really is and who matters most in her life before she loses everything.

Why's it still on my shelf?
