Feature & Follow # 73 ~ Reading a book again for the 'first time'.

Alison Can Read Feature & Follow

Feature & Follow is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. The purpose is to meet new people and gain more followers in the book blogging community. If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers. But you have to know, the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

This weeks question:

If you could read a book for the “first time” again, which book would it be? Why?

Easy
by
Tammara Webber

For a long while I only read paranormal romance. Then I came across a blog which was featuring Easy and it caught my interest. Deciding to branch out into another genre, I rushed out to get a copy. And after reading it, I was so glad I did. Tammara has a great writing style and it was easy (no pun intended) to connect with both Jacqueline and Lucus. Their story is both beautiful and captivating.

"Rescued by a stranger.
Haunted by a secret.
Sometimes, love isn’t easy…"

My Swoon for this week comes from:

Because of Low
(Sea Breeze #2)

by
Abbi Glines

Warning: This book is recommended for 18+ readers due to its adult content.

First - The Blurb:

It’s steamy in the Gulf town of Sea Breeze. Physical attraction is the only way to beat the heat in this start to a series from bestselling, previously self-published author Abbi Glines.

Playboy Cage owns the apartment, and he hosts a revolving door of people, in and out, at all times. Most of them are long-legged hot girls who are never there more than a night or two. When Cage’s new roommate, Marcus, enters the picture, he’s just looking to nurse a broken heart. But there’s one particular semi-frequent regular who catches his eye.

Willow—“Low”—is the one Cage wants to marry. But the two of them are night and day, and Marcus can’t see how Low puts up with all of Cage’s womanizing. What she really needs is a real man....like good-looking and sensible Marcus. But that’s going to get real complicated and real messy—real fast.

Second - The Swoon:

A small smile spread across her face. I didn't wait for her to say anything else. I closed the distance between us and grabbed her face in my hands before crushing my mouth to hers, She made a small little sound of surprise, but then her hands ran up my arms and gripped my shoulders. She was harder to reach standing barefoot. Those heels helped out a lot earlier. Reaching down, I grabbed her waist and picked her up until she wrapped her legs around my waist. Oh. Yeah.

I love a hot steamy romance and Abbi sure knows how to deliver them.

My Tease for this week comes from:

Finding It

(Losing It #3)

by
Cora Carmack

First - The Blurb:

Sometimes you have to lose yourself to find where you truly belong...

Most girls would kill to spend months traveling around Europe after college graduation with no responsibility, no parents, and no-limit credit cards. Kelsey Summers is no exception. She's having the time of her life . . . or that's what she keeps telling herself.

It's a lonely business trying to find out who you are, especially when you're afraid you won't like what you discover. No amount of drinking or dancing can chase away Kelsey's loneliness, but maybe Jackson Hunt can. After a few chance meetings, he convinces her to take a journey of adventure instead of alcohol. With each new city and experience, Kelsey's mind becomes a little clearer and her heart a little less hers. Jackson helps her unravel her own dreams and desires. But the more she learns about herself, the more Kelsey realizes how little she knows about Jackson.

Second - The Tease:

I froze for a few seconds, in denial that this was actually happening. His lips brushed mine softly once, then twice. I exhaled and his grip on my jaw tightened. Then the softness disappeared as his mouth covered mine. He kissed me carefully, thoroughly, like a man who knew that desire hid with the devil in the details. He angled my head, explored my mouth, and I gave up control to him.

The first taste of him made my toes curl, and when he tugged me forward, bare skin colliding with bare skin, my brain took a much-needed vacation.

He kissed me feverishly, fiercely, like I was a battle he wanted to win, and with all the desperation of a man with nothing to lose.

What can I say, this was one amazing kiss.

TBR Tuesday #31 ~ Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor

My good friend Sharrice from Reese's Reviews: My Addiction to Fiction came up with the idea of 'TBR Tuesday'

If you would like to join in the fun, then just do the following:
From your book shelf or your e-reader, pick a book that is on your TBR list. Post it however you want to, then leave a link below so others can see what's waiting to be read.

This week for me its:

Daughter of Smoke and Bone
(Daughter of Smoke and Bone #1)

by
Laini Taylor

Errand requiring immediate attention. Come.

The note was on vellum, pierced by the talons of the almost-crow that delivered it. Karou read the message. 'He never says please', she sighed, but she gathered up her things.
When Brimstone called, she always came."

In general, Karou has managed to keep her two lives in balance. On the one hand, she's a seventeen-year-old art student in Prague; on the other, errand-girl to a monstrous creature who is the closest thing she has to family. Raised half in our world, half in 'Elsewhere', she has never understood Brimstone's dark work - buying teeth from hunters and murderers - nor how she came into his keeping. She is a secret even to herself, plagued by the sensation that she isn't whole.

Now the doors to Elsewhere are closing, and Karou must choose between the safety of her human life and the dangers of a war-ravaged world that may hold the answers she has always sought.

I've heard so many good things about this book. I'm really looking forward to reading it.  And guess what? It's next on my list. Yay!

SO NOW IT'S YOUR TURN!
On your blog (and be sure to leave a link) tell me what's waiting on your TBR pile.

Book Boyfriend of the Week #23 ~ Kaidan from Sweet Peril by Wendy Higgins

This is a meme created by Reading and Things for bloggers to talk about there book boyfriends and tease the readers with things they've said.

Want to participate?

Then all you have to do is:

1) Pick a book boyfriend, it can be from the book your currently reading or from one you've already read.
2) Write what kind of boyfriend he is, and if you want, say why you think that.
3) Pick a quote from his book, long or short, that proves he is the kind of boyfriend you said he is.
4) Make sure the quote, and the explanation DO NOT give away anything from the book (we want all of the twists and plot surprises to remain surprises).
5) Share it! And shout it out using the #Reading and Things.

This week I would like you to meet:

Kaidan Rowe

Kaidan is the son of Lust.
Hot, dynamic, it's his role to take the innocence of females.
But there is a soft sweet sensitive side to him too.
A side that cares and wants to live a normal life.

Anna Whitt, the daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a vow. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?

Here are a few of my favorite quotes to tease you:

“Anna... the night of the summit, when you were saved, it was the only time in my life I've thanked God for anything" (Kaidan)

Those words. They would melt me over and over for all time. (Anna)

* * *

“I was more myself with you during those three days than I've ever been with anyone in my life. It’d be easier if I could be fake with you, but you bring out everything in me, little Ann. All of it.” (Kaidan)

* * *

“I’m tired of living like I’m not alive.” He dropped his hands from my face to grip my shoulders. “I’m bloody sick to death of it. I want one night to be alive. With you.” He closed his eyes and leaned his forehead on mine. “Please, Anna. One last night and we’ll go back to being safe again. I need this. I need you.” (Kaidan)

Okay!
