Feature and Follow #4 Bound

Feature & Follow is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. The purpose is to meet new people and gain more followers in the book blogging community. If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers. But you have to know, the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

Here’s this week’s question:

What are you reading right now?
How do you like it?

Today I started reading - Bound, An Arelia LaRue Novel (Book 1) by Kira Saito.
I'm only a few chapters in but I'm already finding the story quite captivating. Hope it continues to hold my attention.

Sixteen year old Arelia LaRue lives in New Orleans where the music is loud, voodoo queens inhabit every street corner, and the ghosts are alive and well. Despite her surroundings, all she wants is to help her Grand-mere Bea pay the rent and save up for college.

When her best friend Sabrina convinces her to take a well-paying summer job at the infamous Darkwood plantation, owned by the wealthy LaPlante family, Arelia agrees.

However, at Darkwood strange things start to happen, and gorgeous Lucus LaPlante insists that he needs her help. Soon, the powers that Arelia has been denying all her life, come out to play and she discovers mysteries about herself that she could have never imagined.

Swoon Thursday #3 Switched

The fabulous girls over at YA Bound created this super HOT meme. Here's how it works.

From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

Shout it out on Twitter with the hashtag #YABound, post it here in the comments, or grab the adorable button above and share it on your blog!

This week, my Swoon comes from Switched, the first book in Amanda Hocking's Trylle Trilogy.

This was my last chance to convince him, and I knew it. I touched his back, and he tried to pull away from me, but I wouldn't move my hand. He whirled on me, grabbing my wrist. He pushed me until my back was against the wall, pinning me there.

His body pressed tightly against mine, the strong contours of his body against the soft curves of mine, and I could feel his heart hammering against my chest. He still gripped my wrist, restraining one of my hands against the wall.

I wasn't sure what he intended to do, but he looked down at me, his dark eyes smoldering. Then suddenly I felt his lips press roughly against mine.

He kissed me desperately, like he couldn't breathe without me. His stubble scraped against my cheeks, my lips, my neck, everywhere he dared press his mouth against me. He let go of my wrist, allowing me to wrap my arms around him and pull him even closer.

Seconds ago I had been crying, and I could taste the salt from my tears on his lips. Tangling my fingers in his hair, I pulled his mouth more eagerly against mine. My heart beat so fast it hurt, and an intense heat spread through me.

Is your heart beating so fast that it hurts? Are you feeling the heat?

Teaser Tuesday #3 Claire de Lune

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Today my teaser comes from a book I have just finished reading.

Claire de Lune by Christine Johnson

"I want to come in more than anything," he said, and the rough catch in his voice told Claire that he meant it, "but I don't think that Lisbeth would love coming home and finding me here. And I really want Lisabeth to like me, because I'm hopping to be around a lot more, and it'll be a lot easier if she does."

Claire gave in with a sigh. "You're right."

"Still, we do have a few minutes." Matthew cupped her face in his warm hands and leaned close.

Whoops!!! Looks like I went over the 2 sentence limit again. Sorry!!!

PLEASE LEAVE A COMMENT with either the link to your own Teaser Tuesdays post, or if you don't have a blog, then please leave your ‘teasers’ in the comment section below!

Happy Teasing!!!
