All Played Out
(Rusk University #3)
by
Cora Carmack

First person in her family to go to college? CHECK.
Straight A’s? CHECK.
On track to graduate early? CHECK.
Social life? …..yeah, about that….

With just a few weeks until she graduates, Antonella DeLuca’s beginning to worry that maybe she hasn’t had the full college experience. (Okay... Scratch that. She knows she hasn't had the full college experience).

So Nell does what a smart, dedicated girl like herself does best. She makes a "to do" list of normal college activities.

Item #1? Hook up with a jock.

Rusk University wide receiver Mateo Torres practically wrote the playbook for normal college living. When he’s not on the field, he excels at partying, girls, and more partying. As long as he keeps things light and easy, it's impossible to get hurt... again. But something about the quiet, shy, sexy-as-hell Nell gets under his skin, and when he learns about her list, he makes it his mission to help her complete it.

Torres is the definition of confident (And sexy. And wild), and he opens up a side of Nell that she's never known. But as they begin to check off each crazy, exciting, normal item, Nell finds that her frivolous list leads to something more serious than she bargained for. And while Torres is used to taking risks on the field, he has to decide if he's willing to take the chance when it's more than just a game.

Together they will have to decide if what they have is just part of the experiment or a chance at something real.

My Swoon for this week comes from:

 Crystal Kingdom
(Kanin Chronicles #3)
by
Amanda Hocking

First - The Blurb:

Cast out by her kingdom and far from home, she's the Kanin people's only hope.

Bryn Aven - unjustly charged with murder and treason - is on the run. The one person who can help is her greatest enemy, the enigmatic Konstantin Black. Konstantin is her only ally against those who have taken over her kingdom and threaten to destroy everything she holds dear. But can she trust him?

As Bryn fights to clear her name, the Kanin rulers’ darkest secrets are coming to light… and now the entire troll world is on the brink of war. Will it tear Bryn from Ridley Dresden, the only guy she’s ever loved? And can she join forces with Finn Holmes and the Trylle kingdom? One thing is certain: an epic battle is underway—and when it’s complete, nothing will ever be the same…

Second - The Swoon:

He pushed me back, and I began to stumble over my feet, but his arms were there, holding me up, carrying me until I felt my back pressing against the icy metal of the truck. His kisses were fierce and hungry, his teeth just barely scraping against my skin, sending delicious heat surging through my body.

I matched his ferocity, wrapping my legs around him, burying my fingers in the tangles of his hair.

This scene was quite intense and there was a lot of emotion as Bryn and Ridley made the most of a rare opportunity. Definitely one of my most favorite moments in the book.

Crystal Kingdom is the third and final installment to this series and it was a great ending.

My Rating: 5 out of 5

Ice Kissed
(Kanin Chronicles #2)
by
Amanda Hocking

First - The Blurb:

The second novel in the Kanin trilogy, from the international bestseller Amanda Hocking.

In this series, we return to the world of Hocking's million-copy bestselling Trylle trilogy...

Bryn Aven is still struggling with her burgeoning relationship with Ridley. She's also set on completing her mission to find the missing Skojare Queen. But when they do finally discover what happened, Bryn finds out that things are much more complicated than she'd originally thought.

And as she gets closer to the truth, Bryn is framed for the murder of the Kanin King himself. She ends up on the run, as home holds too few answers and no solutions.

Second - The Tease:

I went over to him, and without hesitation, without thinking, without worry, I kissed him, knowing he would kiss me back just as hungrily. And he did not disappoint. He wrapped his arms around me, pulling me to him, but I didn't feel close enough. I pushed him back until he hit the wall.

Ridley stopped kissing me long enough to smile crookedly as I started to undo the buttons of his shirt, but even that quick separation felt too long. Then his fingers were in my hair, and his lips were on my mouth, and I didn't know if I'd ever wanted anything as badly as I wanted him.

I have read many of Amanda's books, and I must say, she never disappoints. The fantasy worlds she creates are easy to picture as are the characters who are always interesting and diverse. Captivated by her original Trylle Trilogy, I was very keen to delve into this new series, which although related, is set some time in the future.

In Frostfire... things progress a little slowly. In Ice Kissed... they move much faster. Filled with more intrigue, mystery, romance and action, I really enjoyed the second instalment and am looking forward to moving onto the third to see how it all ends for Bryn and Ridley.

My rating: 5 out of 5

Undeclared
(Woodlands #1)
by
Jen Frederick

For four years, Grace Sullivan wrote to a Marine she never met, and fell in love. But when his deployment ended, so did the letters. Ever since that day, Grace has been coasting, academically and emotionally. The one thing she’s decided? No way is Noah Jackson — or any man — ever going to break her heart again.

Noah has always known exactly what he wants out of life. Success. Stability. Control. That’s why he joined the Marines and that’s why he’s fighting his way — literally — through college. Now that he’s got the rest of his life on track, he has one last conquest: Grace Sullivan. But since he was the one who stopped writing, he knows that winning her back will be his biggest battle yet.

So now it's your turn.
Leave a comment and tell me what's waiting on your TBR pile.
