Book Boyfriend of the Week #3 - Patch from Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

This is a meme created by Reading and Things for bloggers to talk about there book boyfriends and tease the readers with things they've said.

Want to participate?

Then all you have to do is:

1) Pick a book boyfriend, it can be from the book your currently reading or from one you've already read.

2) Write what kind of boyfriend he is, and if you want, say why you think that.

3) Pick a quote from his book, long or short, that proves he is the kind of boyfriend you said he is.

4) Make sure the quote, and the explanation DO NOT give away anything from the book (we want all of the twists and plot surprises to remain surprises).

5) Share it! And shout it out using the #Reading and Things.

My Book Boyfriend for this week is:

Patch (Jed)

Many of you have probably already met Patch, but I couldn't resist naming him this week.
Apart fom fitting the criteria - tall, dark and handsome, he is also cocky, arrogant, mysterious and sexy. He drives Nora crazy but loves her with passion.

A SACRED OATH
A FALLEN ANGEL
A FORBIDDEN LOVE

Romance was not part of Nora Grey's plan. She's never been particularly attracted to the boys at her school, no matter how hard her best friend, Vee, pushes them at her. Not until Patch comes along. With his easy smile and eyes that seem to see inside her, Patch draws Nora to him against her better judgment.

But after a series of terrifying encounters, Nora's not sure whom to trust. Patch seems to be everywhere she is and seems to know more about her than her closest friends. She can't decide whether she should fall into his arms or run and hide. And when she tries to seek some answers, she finds herself near a truth that is way more unsettling than anything Patch makes her feel.

For she is right in the middle of an ancient battle between the immortal and those that have fallen - and, when it comes to choosing sides, the wrong choice will cost Nora her life.

Here's a little taste: (one of my favorite moments in the book)

"Talk?" He shook his head, his eyes full of desire. Kiss, he whispered to my thoughts.

It wasn't a question, but a warning. He grinned when I didn't protest, and lowered his mouth toward mine. The first touch was just that - a touch. A teasing tempting softness. I licked my lips and Patch's grin deepened.

"More?" he asked.

I curled my hands into his hair, pulling him closer. "More."

Okay! Now it's your turn. Who's your current book crush for this week? Please leave a link below.

Feature & Follow # 51

Alison Can Read Feature & Follow

Feature & Follow is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. The purpose is to meet new people and gain more followers in the book blogging community. If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers. But you have to know, the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

This week's question will be a share:

Share something you’ve learned about book blogging or just blogging in general in the last month.

Mmm... what have I learnt about blogging in the last month?

I've discovered that if I prepare all my posts on one day of the weekend for the following week, then it frees me up for the rest of that week to work on my novel and other things - like reading. It also means that if something unexpected or unanticipated happens, then I don't have to stress over preparing a post because it's already done. Mind you, this does mean that I need to keep myself well organized.

My Swoon for this week comes from:

Clash
(Book 2 - Crash)
by
Nicole Williams

First - The Blurb:

Their Romeo-and-Juliet-level passion is the only thing Jude and Lucy agree on. That, and fighting all the time...

Also not helping? Lucy's raging jealousy of the cheerleader who's wormed her way into Jude's life.

While trying to hang on to her quintessential bad boy and also training to be the top ballet dancer in her class, Lucy knows something's going to give . . . soon.

How can she live without the boy she loves? How can she live with herself if she gives up on her dreams? If Lucy doesn't make the right choice, she could lose everything.

Second - My Swoon:

With one flick of his fingers, my bra snapped open, sliding down my arm until it landed on the floor beside Jude's feet. His mouth covered mine again, hot and unyielding. I couldn't breathe. I didn't want to if it meant not being able to kiss Jude like he was kissing me right now. How he could make me feel his passion, his love, and his possession in one kiss was inexplicable. But he could. Jude's body expressed his feelings better than his words did.

Third - My Thoughts:

This book is a direct follow on from Crash. Jude and Lucy have now moved on to college - only, they are now five hours drive apart. Fortunately, their schedules are such that they have 3 day weekends which they spend pretty much together.

On the down side, with Jude now a major QB player he is assigned a 'Spirit Sister' from the cheer leading squad - Adriane. (Ooh, I so do not like this chick). Setting her sights on Jude she does everything she can to try and lure him away from Luce.

Battling some trust issues, Luce lets herself get caught up in  Adriane's antics and has a major fall out with Jude. Do they get past it? Sorry, no spoilers here.

Again, this book is well written, moves at a fast pace and keeps you reading right to the end (2 am on this puppy). Now I just need to get a hold of Book #3 - Crush to find out if Jude and Lucy get their happy ever after.

My Rating: 5 out of 5

This week's Tease comes from:

Crash
(Book #1 Crash)

by
Nicole Williams

First - The Blurb:

Jude Ryder and Lucy Larson are this generation's Romeo and Juliet: Explosive. Sizzling. Tragic.

A steamy summer encounter with bad boy Jude means trouble for Lucy. Her sights are set on becoming a ballerina, and she won't let anything get in her way . . . except Jude.

He's got a rap sheet, dangerous mood swings, and a name that's been sighed, shouted, and cursed by who knows how many girls.

Jude's a cancer, the kind of guy who's fated to ruin the lives of girls like Lucy—and he tells her so.

But as rumors run rampant and reputations are destroyed, Lucy's not listening to Jude's warning. Is tragedy waiting in the wings? This racy romance is hot, hot, hot!

Second - My Tease:

He smiled down at me. Actually, it was more of a grin. A grin full of attitude and ego. It was a tad sexy too, and it could have been hella sexy if I hadn't already decided to not fall into this boy's traps. "I was wondering how long it would take to get you horizontal," he said, eyes sweeping down to my belly button. "Although I'm not really your missionary-style kind of guy."

And because I can't stop at one tease, here's another:

My hands slipped beneath his shirt, scrolling up his stomach until there was nowhere left to go but down.

"Luce," he breathed, when my fingers settled on his belt. "Stop." His hands gripped my hips firmly, but his mouth kept pace with mine again.

"I'll stop when you stop," I whispered against his mouth.

"Dammit," he sighed, pushing against me with his hands, but continuing to welcome me with his lips.

Third - My Thoughts:

Jude is the bad boy of bad boys. Yeah, he has a rap sheet almost as long as his arm. He's been in and out of juvy more than a dozen time. And he doesn't seem to care about anything or anyone including himself.

Enter Lucy. Luce is a girl who knows what she wants and she's not afraid to go after it. Nor is she one to let others push her around. Attracted to Jude almost instantly, she looks past his many faults and tries to form a relationship with him.

Numerous times he tries to warn her away from him, but she is stubborn - and I'm glad she was.

This book caught my attention almost immediately and I found it difficult to put down. Its well written, flows fast and keeps you enthralled to the very end.

I can't wait to move onto book #2 - Clash

My rating: 5 out of 5

From the TBR Pile #10 - Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater

My good friend Sharrice from Reese's Reviews: My Addiction to Fiction came up with the idea of 'From The TBR Pile'. If you want to join in the fun, then just do the following:

From your book shelf or your e-reader, pick a book that you own that is still on your TBR list. Post it however you want to, then leave a link below so others can see what's waiting to be read.

This week for me its:

Shiver

by
Maggie Stiefvater

For years, Grace has watched the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf—her wolf—is a chilling presence she can't seem to live without.

Meanwhile, Sam has lived two lives: In winter, the frozen woods, the protection of the pack, and the silent company of a fearless girl. In summer, a few precious months of being human… until the cold makes him shift back again.

Now, Grace meets a yellow-eyed boy whose familiarity takes her breath away. It's her wolf. It has to be. But as winter nears, Sam must fight to stay human—or risk losing himself, and Grace, forever.

I have read so many mixed reviews about this series that it's made me slow to pick it up. Maybe soon!

SO NOW IT'S YOUR TURN!
On your blog (and be sure to leave a link) tell me what's waiting on your TBR pile.
