Here’s this week’s question:

School is out! What is your favorite Summer Reading book?

I live in Australia, so currently, we are  heading into Winter.
However, no matter the season, my favorite reads are still the same.
Anything Paranormal with a strong splash of Romance.

And more recently, New Adult / Contemporary

Swoon Thursday # 39 - Beautiful Disaster

The fabulous girls over at YA Bound created this super HOT meme.

Here's how it works. From the book you're currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

Shout it out on Twitter with the hashtag#YABound, post it here in the comments, or grab the adorable button above and share it on your blog!

My Swoon for this week comes from

Beautiful Disaster
by
Jamie McGuire

First - The Blurb:

INTENSE. DANGEROUS. ADDICTIVE.

Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate number of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance from the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby wants—and needs—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the ultimate college campus charmer. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his appeal, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’s apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

Second - The Swoon:

Travis turned me to face him, and then pressed against me, leaning me back against the wall. Our eyes met, and I could see the ache in his expression as he scanned the bare pieces of my skin. I had seen him peruse women before, but this was different. He didn't want to conquer me; he wanted me to say yes.

He leaned in to kiss me, stopping just an inch away. I could feel the heat from his skin radiating against my lips, and I had to stop myself from drawing him in the rest of the way. His fingers were digging into my skin as he deliberated, and then his hands slid from my back to the hem of my panties. His index fingers slid down my hips in between my skin and the lacy fabric, and in the same moment that he was about so slip the delicate threads down my legs, he hesitated. Just when I opened my mouth to say yes, he clenched his eyes shut.

"Not like this," he whispered, brushing his lips across mine. "I want you, but not like this."

Third - My Thoughts:

I only started reading this book last night so I'm only a quarter of the way in. So far, I'm loving it. Abby is gorgeous, knows her own mind and doesn't let anyone take advantage of her. Travis! What can I say about Travis? He's the ultimate bad boy. However, I'm already starting to see cracks in his armour.

I'm looking forward to reading the rest of this book and discovering how things turn out between these two opposites. I'm also guessing there are still quite a few more swoon worthy moments to come.

Teaser Tuesday # 38 - Sweet Evil

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week's Tease comes from

Sweet Evil
by
Wendy Higgins

First - The Blurb:

Embrace the Forbidden

What if there were teens whose lives literally depended on being bad influences?

This is the reality for sons and daughters of fallen angels.
Tenderhearted Southern girl Anna Whitt was born with the sixth sense to see and feel emotions of other people. She's aware of a struggle within herself, an inexplicable pull toward danger, but it isn't until she turns sixteen and meets the alluring Kaidan Rowe that she discovers her terrifying heritage and her willpower is put to the test. He's the boy your daddy warned you about. If only someone had warned Anna.

Forced to face her destiny, will Anna embrace her halo or her horns?

Second - The Tease:
(Couldn't make up my mind this week so I decided to post two. Hope you like them!)

"I need you to trust me and stay relaxed. I'm just going to raise your shirt a bit so that I can get to your back." I shivered at the tug of my shirt upward and the cool air brushing my bare skin.

AND:

I threw down the paper in heated passion and felt his hand cup my cheek. I hadn't even noticed him sitting up during my tirade. My heart was already pumping hard when I turned my face to him. Kaidan's eyes were on fire, and his sweet, earthy scent slammed my senses.

"Seriously," I whispered, unable to look away. "You're doing that bedroom-eyes thing again."

Third - My Thoughts:

I'm a couple of chapters short of finishing this book. So far it's been a great read although there have been a few frustrating moments. More so for Anna than me.
Kaidan - the son of the Duke of Lust - is a hottie who can be extremely infuriating at times. Don't you just love a bad boy!

I'm looking forward to completing this book to see how it all ends.

Stacking the Shelves # 30

Stacking The Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. It is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks.

This week I had a number of books I had to return to the library, and while I was there, I picked up two that have been on my TBR for a while now.

&

Okay! So what did you add to your shelf this week?
I'd really like to know.
