Feature & Follow # 16

Feature & Follow is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. The purpose is to meet new people and gain more followers in the book blogging community. If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers. But you have to know, the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

Here’s this week’s question:

Who do you want to be? If you could choose any character from a book. What do you think that character look like and what do you have in common?

Oh my Gosh, another tough question. There are many female protagonists I like and admire. So rather than choosing just one, I'll generalize and say that I prefer characters who are genuine, courageous, strong and ultimatley, not afraid to reveal their true feelings and go after what they want.
Some examples may include:

Katy from the Lux Series
Evie from the Premonition Series
Nora from Hush Hush
Bianca from Evernight

From the book you’re currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

Shout it out on Twitter with the hashtag #YABound, post it here in the comments, or grab the adorable button above and share it on your blog!

Today's swoon comes from a book which took me a little bit by surprise due to it's unexpected adult content. It is a great read but I feel that I should add a warning:
Only Recommended For Readers Over The Age of 18

One of the tamer swoons:

Adrian studied her for a long moment, then said, "Very well. I'll take something else then."

"What?"

"This..."

He was kissing her before she could blink, having moved so fast it felt like she'd missed entire frames in a film reel.

She was shocked into stillness. He sealed his mouth over hers, his firm, sensual lips pressing softly. The gentleness was unexpected, considering the tightness with which he cupped her face in his hands. His tongue slid along her bottom lip, then slipped inside. The silken caress in her mouth made her shiver, then moan. Adrian kissed with the leisure of a man who took his time making love, which was a luxury she'd never had time for. Sex was for scratching an itch and for feeling human for a few stolen moments. It had never been this slow, deep melding. And this was only a kiss. What the hell would he be like in bed?

Teaser Tuesday #16 - Parallel

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week, my Tease comes form a book I just finished reading.

Destiny has a way of catching up.

Saddled with powers she doesn't understand, Etta Fleming's world is turned upside-down the day she meets Cooper Everett, the man who transports her to an alternate reality. A reality she was meant to be a part of.

One minute, she's an orphan living at Dominion House for Girls, an institution for delinquent foster kids, then finds herself attending the exclusive Dominion Hall Academy.

Plucked from the only world she's ever known, Etta now has to deal with an aunt she never knew, a boyfriend she doesn't know, and a best friend who can't know.

PARALLEL is the first book in the Travelers Series.

The Tease:

"One thing's for sure. I think you're beautiful." He makes his way closer to me.

"You're just saying that because..." Before I can finish, he leans up against me and kisses me. The kiss is soft, yet purposeful. His hands are cupped behind my head and I can feel him part my lips so he can explore further. It feels like fluttering feathers rippling in my stomach.

Stacking the Shelves # 12

Stacking The Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. It is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks.

This week I managed to add two books to my shelf.
The first is an eBook I found at the Apple iBookstore.
