Here’s this week’s question:

What is the last book that made you cry?
Tell us about the scene...

OMG! How do I answer this? Let me think!
Okay, I guess I would have to say, that although many books move me, few bring me to actual tears.
However, having said that, the last book that brought me close, was Finale.
Not so much due to a particular scene, but because an awesome series has come to an end.

A SECRET SOCIETY, MODERN DAY KNIGHTS, AND VAMPIRES come together in a dimension where chance intersects romance for a once-in-a-lifetime adventure proving that true love can find you in the strangest places, even far, far from home.

Minutes ahead of inevitable assassination, Elora Laiken is forcibly transported to an alternate dimension similar, but not identical, to her own. She is stranded. Alone. Far from home. A stranger in a "strangish" land. Of course a girl could suffer worse problems than having gorgeous suitors. Perhaps more importantly, in the midst of an epidemic of vampire related abductions, can she stay alive long enough to choose between an honor debt, true love, or the breathlessness of single-minded passion?

My Familiar Stranger is a full length, stand-alone, Paranormal/Fantasy Romance novel that also sets up the foundation for the Black Swan series.

I am only halfway through this novel, and so far, there hasn't been one swoon worthy moment. However, determined that there must be at least one, I searched ahead and look what I managed to find:

Taking hold of her waist with both hands, he jerked her up the wall to where they were at eye level and pushed her back again holding her in place with the press of his body. Her legs wound around him in an involuntary reflex. Before she could contemplate the fact that his body heat was surprising, he brushed his lips against hers. She jerked back bumping her head on the wall behind her, but not hard enough to do damage.

Staring at his mouth an inch away, she swallowed and said in a voice that sounded too raspy to be her own, "If you bite me, I will stake you."

He drew back just far enough so there would be no mistaking his meaning. "If I bite you, I'll stake myself."

This time his mouth covered hers with demand. For a minute she forgot about everything except the way he was crushing her mouth, ferociously, with an urgency that could only be fueled by desperation. She couldn't breathe, but she didn't care.

Sometimes, it pays to be patient.

Phoenix Light is a typical kid living in a nice home. She has two parents who are okay and an older brother she adores. Her world collapses around her when her dad rushes in the house and switches on the television to see enemy soldiers are taking over their world as they know it. Luckily, her father knew an attack was imminent and he built a vast shelter in the mountains for their family and thousands of others.
What the people on earth don’t know is the war is much more than a human take-over. The forces of good and evil are battling and the humans are their pawns. Jayden, A Dark Angel, is a servant of Vyco and sent in to lead the survivors to their death, but the first person he meets is Phoenix and he finds he can’t destroy her.
Jayden and Phoenix fall in love in spite of the battles around them and lean on their friends and family along the way. Jayden has to make the decision to choose good or evil. Will Phoenix stay human, or become immortal and join Jayden? Can she give up her friends and family? Will she have to choose?

Now for the Tease:

Jayden slowly wrapped his arms around her, letting his body heat warm her up but giving her time to pull away if she wanted. She didn't seem to want to go anywhere which certainly encouraged him. He placed his hand under her chin and tilted her head up so he could look into her wide eyes.

"I've been wanting to be alone with you all night," he whispered...

Stacking the Shelves #13

Stacking The Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. It is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks.

As Christmas is fast approaching, I'm finding it difficult to find time to peruse the book shelves. However, having said that, I did manage to add two more eBooks to my collection.

Midnight Fire
Rise of the Dark Angel
by
Melody Anne

&

The Familiar Stranger
by

So what did you add to your shelf?
