My Swoon for this week comes from:

Red at Night

by
Katie McGarry

First - The Blurb:

In Red at Night, Stella and Jonah are total opposites. She's the girl with purple hair from the wrong part of town. He's a high school senior who hangs with the cool crowd. Until a car accident leaves him haunted by guilt, and Jonah starts spending time at Stella's favorite refuge…the local cemetery.

Stella knows she should keep her distance—after all, she spent her girlhood being bullied by Jonah's friends. Once he's sorted out his tangled emotions, Jonah won't have time for her anymore. Too bad she's already fallen for him….

Second - My Swoon:

Stella also nods, but then starts to shake her head no while licking those beautiful lips. They look soft and I long to find out if they are.

"Jonah," she whispers and those gray eyes plead with me.

My hand eases from her hip to her face, my thumb brushing against her cheek. Stella leans into me - all soft curves, all feminine, a heat that sparks and smolders at the same time. Her head tilts up as I lower mine and I know the moment our lips touch, any hope I had of returning to my old life will no longer exist.

Red at Night is a short Novella - 84 pages - which can easily be read in one sitting.
It's a beautiful story which shows that people can change and that love can sometimes be found in the most unusual of places. If you like Katie McGarry's Pushing the Limits series , then I think you will enjoy Red at Night.

My Tease for this week comes from:

Empower

(The Violet Eden Chapters #5)

by
Jessica Shirvington

First - The Blurb:

Left Cover:
Nov 2013
Edition

Right Cover:
May 2014
Edition

It has been two years since Violet Eden walked away from the city, her friends, her future and - most importantly - her soulmate, Lincoln. Part angel, part human, Violet is determined to stand by the promises she made to save the one she loves.

Living in the perpetual coldness of a broken soul she survives day to day as a Rogue Grigori in London.

But when an unexpected visitor shows up at her door, the news he bears about someone she swore to protect leaves Violet with no choice.

Even worse, she fears that this might all lead back to the night she tries hardest to forget. And what was taken without her permission.

Violet is going back to New York ... and she knows exactly who is going to be there.

With Phoenix in her dreams and Lincoln in her heart she knows it is only a matter of time before the final choice must be made.

Second - The Tease:

Tease 1

There was no fighting it any more. We were two-halves of one whole. Each fundamentally incomplete without the other.
It wasn't like the first time - all new and explorative. This was real. Understood. Fought for. Against. Lost. Now found. And so much more.

Tease 2

Later, when I woke him with gentle kisses to his face and down his chest, I laughed when he grabbed me in response, pulling my mouth up to his in order to explain - in his own toe-curling way - that gentle kisses were simply not going to cut it. I'd never felt so beautiful, or loved, or cherished, or... flat out wanted. Years of imagination had gone into these moments and they did not disappoint. Bottom line: it was hot. He was hot.

Empower is the final installment to The Violet Eden Chapters. Although I enjoyed the entire series, I think that this final book was my favorite. Definitely worth a read.

Overall rating for this series: 5 out of 5

TBR Tuesday #44 ~ Redemption by Kellie Thacker

My good friend Sharrice from Reese's Reviews: My Addiction to Fiction came up with the idea of 'TBR Tuesday'
If you want to join in the fun, then just do the following:
From your book shelf or your e-reader, pick a book that you own that is still on your TBR list. Post it however you want to, then leave a link below so others can see what's waiting to be read.

This week for me its:

Redemption

by

Kellie Thacker

“The dark held new meaning for me now. There was a whole other world out there that I was just beginning to discover... A world that had once been only farce was now very real".

Enduring the death of her parents was the greatest struggle of Abby's Life. Forced to make a difficult choice, she moves from Kentucky to Maine to live with her grandmother–the only family she has left. Life after the death of her parents was very difficult. She faced depression, fell out of touch with her friends, and lost any faith she had in life and God. She wanted nothing more to do with either.

She made the decision to start college in Bangor. Attending the university in her home town of Louisville had always been a dream of hers–just another result of her 360 life turn around.

With the start of classes, it isn’t long before Abby discovers a darkness she thought only existed in the world of fiction and his name is Caleb.

Picking up his own shattered pieces of the malevolent life he’s trying to leave behind, Caleb finds himself drawing dangerously close to Abby despite the potential consequences. He too, has given up on anything remotely related to faith. He knows he’s lost his soul and has been sentenced to certain damnation. purposely throwing himself in the middle of a college campus was his way of enduring punishment for the terrible transgressions he committed against the human race.

Abby immediately finds Caleb interesting. They are drawn together by more than mere attraction and Abby discovers there may be more to their meeting than simple coincidence. Like a larger force is drawing them together. Even though there is a huge barrier between them, they need each other. She finds a refuge in Caleb for protection and in Abby, Caleb finds his soul.

Their faith in each other becomes tested when Caleb’s nemesis comes to town and Abby finds herself teetering on the edge of life and death. Believing that she is going to die, Abby grasps the faith that Caleb has brought back to her and holds it until the end.

Both struggling to sustain a life with some sort of meaning, they realize they are each others only Redemption.
