Feature & Follow # 39

Alison Can Read Feature & Follow

Feature & Follow is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. The purpose is to meet new people and gain more followers in the book blogging community. If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers. But you have to know, the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

* ~ * ~ * ~ *

Here’s this week’s question:

The #FF is 150 weeks old! And we want to hear from you! What would you change about the hop? What do you like about it? Or just suggest a question to be used for next week!

There are quite a few things I like about this hop.

First, I get to meet so many awesome and amazing people who share my passion for reading and writing.

Second, I get to discover new blogs.

Third, I constantly find myself introduced to new books, many of which I have added to my ever growing TBR pile.

And of course there are the questions themselves. Each week I look forward to learning what the question is and then reading all the different responses.

Thanks Alison and Rachel for creating this Hop!!!

Swoon Thursday # Before The Moon Rises

The fabulous girls over at YA Bound created this super HOT meme.

Here's how it works. From the book you're currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

Shout it out on Twitter with the hashtag#YABound, post it here in the comments, or grab the adorable button above and share it on your blog!

My Swoon for this week comes from a short novel I found while browsing the Apple iTunes Bookstore.

Before The Moon Rises

by
Catherine Bybee

The Blurb:

After a twelve-hour shift in a busy emergency room, Janet O’Brien is beat. Her last patient arrives unconscious and naked. She’s lead to believe he’s a psyche patient off his meds. However, once he awakens, Janet is charmed by his million-dollar smile and agrees to give him a ride home.

Werewolf, Max Ritter notices the sassy nurse when he wakes after a night under the full moon. Unfortunately, his archrival is drawn to Janet as well. In order to keep her out of harm's way, he opts to keep her close. When the chemistry between them sparks, Max discovers a completely new reason to keep Janet safe.

The Swoon:

She turned around and peeled the sunglasses off her face. Her smirk told him she knew he wasn't talking about the view.

With her eyes glued to his, Max moved closer and stepped into her personal space. Janet's gaze moved to his lips, she sucked in a small breath.

Max placed one hand to each side of her, boxing her in. Brave, she didn't move away. His breath mingled with hers, he spoke against her lips in a whisper, "Your mouth is so full, so moist. It screams to be kissed."

Her tongue darted out. Her teeth caught it before it disappeared inside. The thought of her catching something else in those teeth made his blood boil. She lifted her chin in invitation. Max wasn't about to ask twice.

He lowered his lips to hers. She tasted sweet with a hint of spice. Her lips were pliable, a gentle nudge, and they opened for his tongue to explore. He kept his hands on the rail and pushed his body against hers. Static electricity surged through him, more than that, his body heated, shuddered. Her scent filled his mind and erased all rational thought.

Teaser Tuesday # 39 - Walking Disaster

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week's Tease comes from
Walking Disaster
by
Jamie McGuire
First - The Blurb:

Finally, the highly anticipated follow-up to the New York Times bestseller Beautiful Disaster.

Can you love someone too much?

Travis Maddox learned two things from his mother before she died: Love hard. Fight harder.

In Walking Disaster, the life of Travis is full of fast women, underground gambling, and violence. But just when he thinks he is invincible, Abby Abernathy brings him to his knees.

Every story has two sides. In Beautiful Disaster, Abby had her say. Now it’s time to see the story through Travis’s eyes.

Second - The Tease:

Abby leaned in again, and this time I let her come close enough to touch her lips to mine. She looked up at me, serious and resolute. "Don't make me beg," she whispered against my mouth.

No matter how noble I'd intended to be, those words coming from her mouth destroyed me. I grabbed the back of her head and sealed my lips against hers.

Third - My Thoughts:

After reading Beautiful Disaster and loving it, I just had to read Walking Disaster and get inside Travis's head. Seeing the story from his perspective was awesome and helped me understand him better. He is a broken soul, but not beyond saving.

Seeing Abby from his side was also interesting. She's the first woman aside from his mother that he has ever loved. Experiencing romantic love for the first time, he certainly runs through some very intense emotions as he tries to win Abby's heart.

Knowing how the story ends, made it a little easier to read through those intense emotions.

My Rating: 5 out of 5
