Stacking the Shelves # 34

Stacking The Shelves is hosted by Tynga’s Reviews. It is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks.

After reading several great reviews about the Soul Screamers, I just had to read this series.
So from the local library, I borrowed:

My Soul To Take

My Soul To Save

&

My Soul To Keep

All by Rachel Vincent

Okay! So what did you add to your shelf this week?
I'd really like to know.

Here’s this week’s question:
Today is the US’ Independence Day. Share your favorite book with a war in it, or an overthrow of the government.

My choice of book for this question was easy.

Gone With The Wind

by
Margaret Mitchell

Gone With the Wind has been a favorite of mine for as long as I can remember. I have two copies. One well worn from the numerous times I've read it. And one still in brand new condition.

Swoon Thursday # 46 - The Kissing Booth

The fabulous girls over at YA Bound created this super HOT meme.
Here's how it works. From the book you're currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.
Shout it out on Twitter with the hashtag#YABound, post it here in the comments, or grab the adorable button above and share it on your blog!

My Swoon for this week comes from

The Kissing Booth

by
Beth Reekles

First - The Blurb:

Meet Rochelle Evans: pretty, popular--and never been kissed. Meet Noah Flynn: badass, volatile--and a total player. And also Elle's best friend's older brother...

When Elle decides to run a kissing booth for the school's Spring Carnival, she locks lips with Noah and her life is turned upside down. Her head says to keep away, but her heart wants to draw closer--this romance seems far from fairy tale and headed for heartbreak.

But will Elle get her happily ever after?

Second - The Swoon:

Noah took a stride forward and shut me up very effectively by crushing his lips against mine. Any resistance and tension went gushing out of my body and my arms curled around Noah's neck.

I forgot what a fool I'd just made of myself and kissed him back. His hands were on my back and in my hair, squashing me against him so it seemed like every inch of our bodies was touching.

And for the record - there were definitely fireworks of some kind going on.

Hands on my hips, he lifted me up onto the kitchen counter so my legs were either side of him. He moved on to kissing  my neck, and that was when my head began to clear a little, and I realized just exactly what we were doing here.

Teaser Tuesday # 45 - Faking It

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

This week's Tease comes from

Faking It

by
Cora Carmack
First - The Blurb:

Mackenzie “Max” Miller has a problem. Her parents have arrived in town for a surprise visit, and if they see her dyed hair, tattoos, and piercings, they just might disown her. Even worse, they’re expecting to meet a nice, wholesome boyfriend, not a guy named Mace who has a neck tattoo and plays in a band. All her lies are about to come crashing down around her, but then she meets Cade.

Cade moved to Philadelphia to act and to leave his problems behind in Texas. So far though, he’s kept the problems and had very little opportunity to take the stage. When Max approaches him in a coffee shop with a crazy request to pretend to be her boyfriend, he agrees to play the part. But when Cade plays the role a little too well, they’re forced to keep the ruse going. And the more they fake the relationship, the more real it begins to feel.

Second - The Tease:

I crushed my mouth to hers.

She gasped, and I slipped my tongue past her lips. She stayed there for a few seconds, her hands still at her sides, then I felt the tentative touch of her hand against my hip, and that was all the permission I needed to continue.

Ahhh! You know me. I can never stop at just a couple of sentences.

I threaded a hand through her hair and wrapped the other around her waist. I walked her backward until she hit the wall. Her other hand came to my waist, and her fingers pressed deeper into my skin. Her lips were soft and full underneath mine, and I eased up enough to taste them. I tried to kiss her softly. I did, but there was something about her that made me desperate and I kissed her harder.

Third - My Thoughts:

I liked Cade so much in Losing It that I just had to read Faking It to be sure he ended up with a Happy Ever After.

Max! (Mackenzie) is one wild mixed up crazy girl, and just what Cade needs to get over his loss. Although they seem like an mismatched pair, the chemistry between them is amazing. I really liked the way these two interacted. Like with Losing It, it was easy to get into the story and become captivated by their world.

Cora did another amazing job. I can't wait for Finding It.

My rating: 5 out of 5

From The TBR Pile # 4

My good friend Sharrice from Reese's Reviews: My Addiction to Fiction came up with the idea of 'From The TBR Pile'. If you want to join in the fun, then just do the following:

From your book shelf or your e-reader, pick a book that you own that is still on your TBR list. Post it however you want to, then leave a link below so others can see what's waiting to be read.

This week for me, it's:

Blood Singers
(Blood #1)
by
Tamara Rose Blodgett

A sub-species of human beings...

Twenty-year old Julia Wade, a young woman tragically widowed, is in the middle of a bizarre bid between two mythical species who are vying for the unique properties she offers; her blood. The vampires need her to balance the food load of the human species and give them their coveted “Lightwalkers.” The Were wish to be moonless changers; a Rare One can make that a reality.

Julia wants to belong to herself.

Can she free herself and begin a new life?

I got this one a while back. Forgot I had it.

SO NOW IT'S YOUR TURN!
On your blog (and be sure to leave a link) tell me what's waiting on your TBR pile.
