My Swoon for this week comes from:

Ruined
(The Eternal Balance #1)

by
Jus Accardo

First - The Blurb:

Hell is looking for a way to break loose…

Jax lost the genetic lottery. Descended from Cain, the world's first murderer, he's plagued by a curse that demands violence in exchange for his happiness. He left everything behind, including the girl he loved, but thriving on the pain of others is lonely… And it's killing him.

After a series of heartbreaking losses, Samantha put rubber to pavement and headed for college as fast as her clunker could carry her. But she can't outrun her problems. When an attack at school drives her back home, she's thrown into the path of a past—and a guy—she's been trying to forget.

Sam strains Jax's control over his darkness, but running isn't an option this time. Someone—or, something—followed her home from school: a ruthless monster with a twisted plan centuries in the making. Forced together to survive, and fighting an attraction that could destroy them both, Jax and Sam must stop a killer bent on revenge.

Second - My Swoon(s):

Swoon 1
It wasn't a slow, sweet kiss. It was the dive-right-in-before-you-lose-your-f******-nerve kind. Arms winding around her waist, I pulled her close and covered her mouth with mine. Soft, warm, and eager, she tasted faintly of vodka and cherries. It was sensation overload. A veritable shock to my system. I was a lightening rod in a hurricane. Pushed to the brink, but happy, because it's where I was meant to be. Always riding the line between pleasure and pain.

Swoon 2
I was so much taller than Sam. Six foot five to her five foot four. She rose onto her toes, pulling my head down the rest of the way, and brushed her lips to mine. The touch was soft. Warm. Electric. Not at all like the kiss a the club, or the one in her apartment. This was different. Needy, yeah, but so much more than that. It was full of the one thing I didn't deserve. That I'd never deserve. Love.

Jax would like you to think he is the bad boy and completely unworthy of love, but deep down, he and the demon living inside him are both kind of soft.

I loved this book. Can't wait for the next one in the series.

My Tease for this week comes from:

My Sweetest Escape

(My Favorite Mistake #2)

by
Chelsea M. Cameron

First - The Blurb:

The past will always find you.

Jos Archer was the girl with the perfect life; until the night it all came crashing down around her. Now, nine months later, she still hasn't begun to pick up the pieces. Even transferring to a new college and living under the watchful eye of her older sister, Renee, isn't enough to help her feel normal again.

And then she meets Dusty Sharp. For reasons Jos can't begin to fathom, the newly reformed campus bad boy seems determined to draw her out of her shell. And if she's not careful, his knowing green eyes and wicked smile will make her feel things she's no longer sure she deserves.

But even as Dusty coaxes Jos to open up about the past, he's hiding secrets of his own. Secrets about the night her old life fell apart. When the truth is finally revealed, will it bring them closer together;or tear them apart for good?

Second - The Teasers:

Tease 1

He pulled some hair loose from my bun and twirled it around his fingers. "Want to try it slower this time? We have all day."

Tease 2

"Live the day," I said, touching the sides of his face. He felt so good.

"Yeah, Nate used to say that."

"I know."

"So let's live, Joscelyn. Right now."

So I brought his mouth back to mine, and our lips had another joyous reunion. Now it was time for our bodies to be introduced. The kiss got more intense, and he pressed himself against me, and I knew, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that I wanted to give myself to him, completely.

After experiencing a traumatic event in her life for which she blames herself, Jos (Joscelyn) suddenly changes from being the perfect everything (student, daughter, sister) to being a party girl who seems to care about very little. Concerned for her daughter, Jos's mother sends her to live with her sister Renee in the hope that a fresh start will return her to the way she was. As one can expect, Jos is a little resentful, and although she follows the rules her sister imposes on her, she isn't particularly happy about it.

Enter Dusty. A friend and constant visitor of the house Jos shares with her sister and five other roomies, he soon forms a friendship with Jos. As the attraction between them grows, they both start to develop significant feelings for each other but it takes a while before either one of them finally acts on them. Dusty does have a positive affect on Jos, but with both of them holding back secrets, there are a few rocky moments before they finally manage to put the pain and loss of the past behind them and move forward.

I really enjoyed My Sweetest Escape. It was a great follow on from My Favorite Mistake which I read last year. Chelsea Cameron is a very talented author who knows how to claim your attention and keep you enthralled.

My Rating: 5 out of 5

TBR Tuesday #45 ~ The Trouble With Goodbye by Sarra Cannon

My good friend Sharrice from Reese's Reviews: My Addiction to Fiction came up with the idea of 'TBR Tuesday'
If you want to join in the fun, then just do the following:
From your book shelf or your e-reader, pick a book that you own that is still on your TBR list. Post it however you want to, then leave a link below so others can see what's waiting to be read.

This week for me its:

The Trouble With Goodbye
(Fairhope #1)

by

Sarra Cannon

One night can change everything…

Two years ago, Leigh Anne Davis shocked everyone in tiny Fairhope, Georgia when she broke up with her wealthy boyfriend to attend an Ivy League university a thousand miles away. At school, she finds a happiness and independence she’s never known.

Until one terrifying night takes it all away from her.

With no place else to go, Leigh Anne heads home to reclaim her old life. A life she worked so hard to escape. On the outside, she seems like the same girl everyone has always known. But deep inside, she’s hiding a terrible secret.

That’s when she meets Knox Warner, a troubled newcomer to Fairhope. His eyes have the same haunted look she sees every day in the mirror, and when she’s near him, the rest of the world fades away. But being with Knox would mean disappointing everyone all over again. If she wants to save what’s left of her old life, she has no choice but to say goodbye to him forever.

Only, the trouble with goodbye is that sometimes it’s about courage and sometimes it’s about fear. And sometimes you’re too broken to know the difference until it’s too late.

SO NOW IT'S YOUR TURN!
Leave a comment and tell me what's waiting on your TBR pile.
