My Swoon for this week comes from:

Never Never
(Never Never #1)

by
Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher

First - The Blurb:

Best friends since they could walk.
In love since the age of fourteen.
Complete strangers since this morning.
He'll do anything to remember.
She'll do anything to forget.

Second - The Swoon(s):

Swoon 1
I shake my head with a soft laugh. "I don't know myself very well, but I must have been extremely competitive. Because I just took that as a challenge."
"Took what as a challenge? You think you can make me like you again?"
I look over at her and give my head the slightest shake. "No. I'm gonna make you fall in love with me again."

Swoon 2
He kisses with soft lips and a firm tongue. It's not sloppy or wet, it moves in and out of my mouth sensually as his lips suck softly on mine. I run my fingers up the back of his neck and into his hair, and that's when he stands, forcing me to take a step back and change positions. I do a good job of hiding my gasp.

Throughout this short Novella, I was sitting on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what was going on. The mystery, the romance, it's all quite intense and certainly keeps you guessing. I am totally intrigued to know what happened to place Charlie and Silas in the situation they found themselves in. Unfortunately though, this is not revealed in book one.

I need book 2... like... RIGHT NOW!

My Rating (so far): 5 out of 5

(Pushing the Limits #5)
by
Katie McGarry

Expected publication: July, 2015

Tough and independent, 17-year-old Abby lets very few people into her inner circle. It’s common knowledge in her Kentucky town that she deals drugs, but not even her closest friends know why. But when a deal goes south and Abby’s suddenly in danger, she finds herself reluctantly forced to lean on daredevil Logan—a boy whose restless spirit matches her own.

Logan has his own reasons for wanting to keep Abby at arms’ length. But he never expected to find in her the one person who might help him face the demons he’s tried so hard to run from.

Together, Abby and Logan will have to make a decision: let their current circumstances weigh them down forever…or fight for the future they both thought was impossible.

  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)

My Tease for this week comes from:

   Off Sides
(Off #1)
by
Sawyer Bennett

First - The Blurb:

“I'm not sure what possessed me to do it. Maybe it was the impossible expectations I faced, maybe it was my own self-loathing. But I just knew I needed something different to happen. I needed someone... something... to derail me from my current path. Otherwise, I would become lost... a hollowed out shell of a man. So I did it. I approached her, then I pursued her, then I made her mine. And my life was saved...”

Ryan Burnham is the privileged son of a U.S. Congressman and captain of his university’s hockey team. While he is on the verge of fulfilling his dreams to play in the NHL, his parents want him on a different course. One he is expected to accept for the sake of his family’s public image.

Forced her to abandon her music career after the heart breaking death of her parents, Danny Cross exists on the opposite side of the tracks from Ryan. She is struggling to make her own way, working two jobs, attending college part time and volunteering in a homeless shelter. She is on a mission to build her own success.

With a chance meeting, their vastly different worlds collide, causing each to evaluate whether they are truly on the correct path to self-fulfillment and happiness. Can their relationship survive? Particularly when others are against them every step of the way. A lot can happen in just ten short days...

Second - The Tease:

Our lips meet softly... nothing more than a whisper against each other. Moving to my cheek with his other hand, Ryan holds both sides of my head and presses into me. His tongue slides gently into my mouth and at the first contact, a groan bubbles up from my chest. My hands involuntarily fist in his shirt and I attempt to get even closer to him. I am being swallowed by his kiss and it's all I can do to hang on.

If you are looking for an easy read which can be completed in one afternoon, then Offsides might be the book for you. The story is simple, the characters are relatively easy to connect with, and there is little angst.

I liked Danny. She might appear like she comes from the 'wrong' side of the tracks, but she's actually quite sweet, definitely intelligent and knows how to hold her own against nastiness.

At first, Ryan appears like your typical hot guy who is popular, rich and a little conceited. However, we quickly learn that he has a soft side and a kind heart. He doesn't care about Danny's back ground, or where she comes from. He just wants her to give their relationship a chance.

Sure, there are hurdles along the way (jealous ex-girlfriends, snobby mothers, and vindictive team mates) but there is nothing that can't be overcome.

A cute read.

My Rating: 4 out of 5

TBR Tuesday # 98 ~ Moonflower by E.D.C. Johnson

My good friend Sharrice from Reese's Reviews: My Addiction to Fiction came up with the idea of 'TBR Tuesday'

If you want to join in the fun, then just do the following:

This week for me its:

Moonflower
by
E.D.C. Johnson

After Josephine Wood’s father dies of cancer, her mother up-roots the two of them and moves to the city. Josie hates her city life, but her teenage issues are of little consequence when they have a car accident and she wakes up in a strange land (reminiscent of Victorian Europe) alone. Lost, with her school backpack as the only connection to her world, Josie struggles to find her way home. She is found by Lucius Conrí, the son of a Marquess, who possesses royal blood and the gift to shift into a wolf’s form at will. Can the kind-hearted Lucius help her find her way while winning her love, or will she fall for Donovan Conrí his older, more serious brother and heir to the Conrí wealth?
