This weeks question:

Bookagram: Photograph your fave read in a funny place.

Sad to say, I'm not that creative when it comes to photography so I opted out of funny and went for something a little different.

I would like to point out that I have many favorite reads, but one book which I feel drawn to repeatedly (besides my own of course) is

Easy

My Swoon for this week comes from:

The Edge of Never

by
J. A. Redmerski

Due to sexual content and language, this book is recommended for 17+ – Adult Contemporary Women’s – New Adult Fiction

First - The Blurb:

Twenty-year-old Camryn Bennett had always been one to think out-of-the-box, who knew she wanted something more in life than following the same repetitive patterns and growing old with the same repetitive life story. And she thought that her life was going in the right direction until everything fell apart.

Determined not to dwell on the negative and push forward, Camryn is set to move in with her best friend and plans to start a new job. But after an unexpected night at the hottest club in downtown North Carolina, she makes the ultimate decision to leave the only life she’s ever known, far behind.

With a purse, a cell phone and a small bag with a few necessities, Camryn, with absolutely no direction or purpose boards a Greyhound bus alone and sets out to find herself. What she finds is a guy named Andrew Parrish, someone not so very different from her and who harbors his own dark secrets. But Camryn swore never to let down her walls again. And she vowed never to fall in love.

But with Andrew, Camryn finds herself doing a lot of things she never thought she’d do. He shows her what it’s really like to live out-of-the-box and to give in to her deepest, darkest desires. On their sporadic road-trip he becomes the center of her exciting and daring new life, pulling love and lust and emotion out of her in ways she never imagined possible. But will Andrew’s dark secret push them inseparably together, or tear them completely apart?

Second - My Swoon:

His eyes are wide and fierce and sincere when finally I turn around.

He steps up to me and grips my upper-arms carefully in his hands. And then he leans in and presses his lips softly against mine. I wilt, but I'm still too confused to react properly to it. Confused and stunned and my heart is racing.

He pulls away and looks at me, his face every bit of sincere and he tilts his head to one side... smiling.

"Why is that funny?" I ask sharply and go to push away from him.

He holds me still by my arms and forces my humiliated gaze, which is beginning to reflect resentment.

"I say that I'm not into you like that, Camryn, because..." he pauses, searching my face, looking at my lips for a moment as if deciding whether or not he should kiss them again, "... because you're not the girl I could only sleep with once."

Andrew is so sweet, professing that he doesn't want just one night with Camryn.

There is a lot of emotion in this book, particularly towards the end. Considerate to those of you who have not read it yet, that's all I'm going to say on this one.

My Rating: 4 out of 5

My Tease for this week comes from:

Cursed

by
Jennifer L. Armentrout

First - The Blurb:

Dying sucks
...and high school senior Ember McWilliams knows firsthand.

After a fatal car accident, her gifted little sister brought her back. Now anything Ember touches dies. And that, well, really blows.

Ember operates on a no-touch policy with all living things--including boys. When Hayden Cromwell shows up, quoting Oscar Wilde and claiming her curse is a gift, she thinks he's a crazed cutie. But when he tells her he can help control it, she's more than interested. There's just one catch: Ember has to trust Hayden's adopted father, a man she's sure has sinister reasons for collecting children whose abilities even weird her out. However, she's willing to do anything to hold her sister's hand again. And hell, she'd also like to be able to kiss Hayden. Who wouldn't?

But when Ember learns the accident that turned her into a freak may not've been an accident at all, she's not sure who to trust. Someone wanted her dead, and the closer she gets to the truth, the closer she is to losing not only her heart, but her life.

For real this time

Second - The Tease:

His lips barely brushed mine, as if he wanted to test out what would happen. I didn't dare move. Because nothing happened, he pressed forward. Gentle and soft, then hard and hungry as the kiss deepened.

My world exploded.

Little shivers of pleasure and panic shot through me. I needed to stop, but I couldn't pull myself away, couldn't focus on anything other than how wonderful his lips felt against mine.

Third - My Thoughts:

I was waiting for my local library to get this one in but it seemed to be taking forever. Then I joined the Overdrive library (eBooks) and voila, there it was for me to borrow without delay.

So was it worth the wait? Definitely.

The story begins with us being introduced to Ember. Killed in a car crash two years earlier, she is brought back to life by her little sister - but not without consequences. In her reincarnated form, she cannot touch anyone, and no one can touch her. If they do, they will die. Labelled a 'freak' by her friends and  peers, she lives in almost complete isolation until Hayden appears.

Hayden - sexy without a doubt and completely smitten with Ember, spends much of his time trying to convince her that she is not cursed, and that with help from his adoptive father and family, she will be able to learn how to control her 'gift' so as not to hurt anyone unintentionally.

There is a lot of sexual tension between Ember and Hayden as she slowly learns how to control her ability so that they can touch without the fear of him dying.

There are also many twists and turns to the story and it will definitely keep you intrigued. Once again, Jennifer has written a great novel.

My Rating: 4 out of 5

Book Boyfriend of the Week #12 ~ Will Cooper from Slammed by Colleen Hoover

This is a meme created by Reading and Things for bloggers to talk about there book boyfriends and tease the readers with things they've said.

Want to participate?

Then all you have to do is:

1) Pick a book boyfriend, it can be from the book your currently reading or from one you've already read.
2) Write what kind of boyfriend he is, and if you want, say why you think that.
3) Pick a quote from his book, long or short, that proves he is the kind of boyfriend you said he is.
4) Make sure the quote, and the explanation DO NOT give away anything from the book (we want all of the twists and plot surprises to remain surprises).
5) Share it! And shout it out using the #Reading and Things.

This week I would like you to meet:

Will Cooper

Will is gorgeous, sexy, and caring. He loves slam poetry with a passion and often convey's what he's thinking and feeling through words. He has good grounded values, and always tries to do the right thing - even when his heart protests. From the moment he meets Layken, he not only feels a strong attraction towards her, but also a need to protect to her. Yeah, a real sweetie.

"I stood beside the U-Haul, and I just watched her. I stared at her while she looked on with the saddest look in her eyes. I wanted to know what she was thinking about, what was going on in her head. What had mad her so sad? I wanted to hug her so bad. When she finally got out of the U-Haul and I introduced myself to her, it took all I had to let go of her hand. I wanted to hold on to it forever. I wanted to let her know that she wasn't alone. Whatever burden it was that she was carrying around, I wanted to carry it for her. I wish I could, Lake. I wish I could take it all away. Unfortunately, that's not how it works. It doesn't just go away.”

Falling in love can feel like poetry. Or it can feel like a slam to the heart.

Colleen Hoover’s romantic, emotion-packed debut novel unforgettably captures all the magic and confusion of first love, as two young people forge an unlikely bond before discovering that fate has other plans for them.

Following the unexpected death of her father, eighteen-year-old Layken becomes the rock for both her mother and younger brother. She appears resilient and tenacious, but inside, she's losing hope. Then she meets her new neighbor Will, a handsome twenty-one-year-old whose mere presence leaves her flustered and whose passion for poetry slams thrills her.

Not long after a heart-stopping first date during which each recognizes something profound and familiar in the other, they are slammed to the core when a shocking discovery brings their new relationship to a sudden halt. Daily interactions become impossibly painful as they struggle to find a balance between the feelings that pull them together and the forces that tear them apart. Only through the poetry they share are they able to speak the truth that is in their hearts and imagine a future where love is cause for celebration, not regret.
