Teaser Tuesday #66 ~ Good For You by Tammara Webber

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Tease for this week comes from:

Good For You

(Between the Lines #3)

by
Tammara Webber

First - The Blurb:

Reid Alexander's celebrity life is an open book. Every relationship, every error in judgment is analyzed by strangers. His latest mistake totaled his car, destroyed a house and landed him in the hospital. As his PR team works overtime to salvage his image, one thing is clear—this is one predicament he won’t escape without paying for it.

Dori Cantrell is a genuine humanitarian—the outward opposite of everything Reid represents. When his DUI plea bargain lands him under her community service supervision, she proves unimpressed with his status and indifferent to his proximity, and he soon wants nothing more than to knock her off of her pedestal and prove she's human.

Counting the days until his month of service ends, Dori struggles to ignore Reid’s wicked pull while challenging him to recognize his own wasted potential. But Dori has secrets of her own, safely locked away until one night turns her entire world upside down. Suddenly their only hope for connection and redemption hinges on one choice: whether or not to have faith in each other.

Second - The Tease:

"All I'm asking," his knuckles brush along my jaw, "is that you tell me, Dori, what... you...want."

When he straightens and begins to back away,  I almost protest, biting my lip to keep from doing so. This movement betrays me, though, because again, he stares at my mouth a long moment before his gaze shifts to my eyes.

"Or maybe, just tell me if I do something you don't want," he says quietly. And then his palms are skimming down my arms, and his mouth is on mine and he's kissing me, sliding his arms round me and pulling me up against his chest, hands pressing my lower back. Gently, his lips play over mine, teasing and testing and it feels so incredible.

Third - My Thoughts:

Where You Are continues with Reid's story. A celebrity and a well known figure in the public eye, Reid's life is under constant scrutiny. Does he mind? Not really. He's a player and he doesn't seem to care that the whole world knows it. At least not until he meets Dori.

Dori is a do-gooder. She works hard, tries to keep to herself and doesn't like to rely on anyone (other than maybe her sister). She is, for all intents and purposes, the opposite of Reid. And you know what they say about opposites...

After crashing his car into the side of a house while drunk, Reid is sentenced to a months worth of community service. Assigned to help fix the house he destroyed, he crosses paths with Dori who is working as a volunteer at the same site. At first, Reid sees Dori as a little righteous and does everything he can to annoy her. But then, as he gets to know her, his feelings towards her begin to change. As do hers for him.

Seeing sides of each other that are not so bad, the two of them slowly begin a relationship which neither one of them knows quite how to tag.

I loved the chemistry between Reid and Dori. Their little interchanges at the beginning were fun. I also liked how their feelings for each other changed and developed over time. This is a sweet romance. One I would recommend.

My Rating: 5 out of 5
