The fabulous girls over at YA Bound created this super HOT meme.

Here's how it works. From the book you're currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

My Swoon for this week comes from:

The Space Between
(The Book of Phoenix #1)
by
Kristie Cook

When Life Falls to Pieces, Answers Lie in the Space Between

Leni Drago can't make a smart decision on her own, according to her mother anyway--the few times she's tried resulted in disaster. When her uncle sends her on a dance tour in Italy to find her real self, she returns to an empty home and any evidence of his existence wiped out. Then things get even stranger, like the mysterious appearances of Jeric Winters--inked, pierced and a hit-'em-and-quit-'em type. He's one decision that should be easy for Leni. Or is he?

Jeric doesn't do girlfriends. Unless they're someone else's. He left the fighting cage and modeling for a reason, and girls who want more than a night of fun are distractions he doesn't need. Especially when they come with as much baggage as Leni carries. But he can't shake the gut feeling that he needs to know her. All of her.

To discover the truth behind their connection and their ties to a journal from 1989, they must face painful secrets from their pasts. And they must do so quickly because their own existences are falling to pieces.

Second - The Swoon:

Leni and Jeric's first kiss

My stomach jumped into my throat then did that crazy plunging feeling as soon as our lips touched. I couldn't breathe, forgot I even needed to as his mouth pressed harder. And then his tongue flicked out, over my bottom lip, wanting in. I pushed myself against him, welding my body to his as I parted my lips and met his tongue with my own.

My soul tugged and pulled as if trying to escape my body. Pulled toward him. And at the same time, I felt his coming for me, and they met in the minute space between us and danced and mixed and bonded together, creating the most amazing and unbelievable sensation I'd ever felt. I'd almost call it an out-of-body experience except I still physically felt every nerve ending in my body, and each one was on fire from head to toe.

The Space Between is loaded with mystery and intrigue. Right from the start, I was caught in the stories web, and at the end of each chapter, I was left with a feeling of  'more please'. Yeah, a hard one to put down.

Written in two time frames, (2012 and 1989) their are actual two stories being told. In 2012 where the story begins, we are introduced to Leni and Jeric who are drawn to each other by an invisible force. While trying to figure out why they feel so strongly connected even though they have only known each other for a short time, they are given a journal in which they hope they will find the answers.

The journal, written in 1989 by Jacey and Micah (the secondary characters), does fill in some of the gaps but still keeps you guessing, and it is not until the last one eighth of the book that the mysteries are finally revealed.

Reading the stories of these two couples and slowly discovering how they are intertwined made for a very interesting read, one which was different, and at no time, boring.

My rating: 5 out of 5
