Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Tease for this week comes from:
Jordyn
(A Daemon Hunter #1)
by
Tiffany King
Okay, so what do you think?
First - The Blurb:
Hand to hand combat training: Check
Cardio and strength training: Check
Daemon hunting: Check
Anomaly: Check
Check, check, check, check...That's all my life is. There's nothing ordinary about me. I'm "special." I know this because I'm reminded of it every stinking day. I can kick a Daemon's ass with both hands tied behind my back. I can run up a mountain without breaking a sweat. Know what I can't do? Get guys to notice me, or hang out with friends like normal people do. I can't just be ordinary because I have an Arch Angel for a mentor who is always breathing down my neck, and a family of angelic Guides and Protectors who scrutinize every little thing I do. Just for a day I want a life where I'm no longer some anomaly, where I don't have to feel like a lab rat.
And then I met Emrys. Okay, so my mentor and family hate him, but probably for good reason. After-all, he is a Soul Trader, and they aren't the most trust worthy beings. But, he is sooo hot with his green eyes, leather jacket and the sexiest tattoo you've ever seen running down his back. And-he doesn't treat me like a project.
I've got myself in quite a little quandary here. Choosing between my responsibilities and the Trader that holds my heart is something I didn't sign up for. Torn between two different worlds, I must now decide who to trust and who to walk away from. What's a girl to do? See what I mean? I am an anomaly. I am Jordyn.
Second - The Tease:
"Wait, turn around," I said, snatching a clean pair of jeans from my draw. In less than five seconds I had the yoga pants I'd worn to bed off and my jeans pulled on. I grabbed my boots by my bedroom door and turned back to Emrys only to realize he'd ignored my request. "Seriously?" I asked, arching my eyebrows.
"I make it a rule to never turn around when a striptease is happening right in front of me," he smirked.
"Soul sucking perv," I said, reaching for his hand.
"Oh, that's so hot. Say it again," he said, grasping my hand firmly in his.

Third - My Thoughts:
Jordyn is no wall flower. She is a Daemon hunter, and a damn good one. But she is also a little lost. Unable to remember much of her past due to an accident in which she lost both her parents, she must rely on those around her to help her piece together her memories. Unfortunately though, her guardians and her mentor are not being completely honest. Couple that with their treating her like a child and not giving her much freedom, she looks for an escape.
Enter Emrys. He's a Soul Trader. A bad guy. Untrustworthy. And he's smoking hot. Jordyn is warned to stay away from him, but... Jordyn doesn't like doing as she's told. Attracted to him, Jordyn can't seem stop herself from wanting more of him. And likewise, he wants more of her.
I really enjoyed this book. It's well written. Easy to follow. Jordyn and Emrys work well together and I look forward to reading the next installment Jordyn and the Caverns of Gloom.
My rating: 4 out of 5
