Feature and Follow #11

Feature & Follow is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. The purpose is to meet new people and gain more followers in the book blogging community. If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers. But you have to know, the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.

Here’s this week’s question:

What is a deal breaker for you in a book? For example, do you abhor love triangles? Or can't deal with bad editing?

Abhor is a harsh word. There's nothing I really abhor but I do have a few dislikes. One is when the story jumps all over the place making it difficult to follow what's going on. And another is when you wait for that moment in a story for the girl and guy to really connect, and it never happens.
I'm a  romantic at heart and I long for those special moments when love is revealed and conquers all.

  2. I completely agree with you. I too am a hopeless romantic and it is so frustrating when all you want is for something to happen and it never does. New follower from Random Thoughts and Weirdness (you already follow me :))

  7. Grrr, I really dislike it when there's romantic tension and the two don't connect. I am having a big problem with that in regards to a highly anticipated ARC that I received last week. It made me sad!
    Happy Friday!

  8. Ohh, I agree! It's so annoying when I don't buy the romance, because there's not chemistry.

  9. Great answer! I can't stand when the story jumps around making it hard to follow >.< I also have a hard time with poorly developed romances. I want a connection! Thanks for sharing, new follower via GFC :) Here's my FFF

  10. Definitely understand not liking those two things. It doesn't bother me when romance goes unexplored. I must like tension, though, and knowing two characters connect but never really pursue anything works for me sometimes.
I know what you mean about a story jumping around a lot. Sometimes it's hard to keep track of everything and it can be annoying. When it's done well, I find that I like it because it's impossible to predict. =)
Thanks for stopping by! Following you back via GFC.

  15. It's nice that you don't actually abhor anything. That's the best way to approach a book. :)

New follower on GFC. You can read my FF here

  16. I'm a romantic at heart myself and there is nothing like reading about two people falling in love. But it has to feel genuine. The reader needs to see how the guy's and girl's personalities click, and then when they realize they love each other - gosh I love that. And it is so disappointing when it doesn't happen in a book.

  21. One of my pet peeve is when the couple seemingly got together for no reason, except for the author's convenience, so I totally understand what you mean!
Thanks for the comment over at my blog earlier! I've followed you back!
