My heart slammed into my chest as I melted into his consuming embrace. The hard planes of his body against mine, even with the barriers of our clothing, felt better than anything I'd ever experienced in my life. His unique scent of soap and wood drifted up through my nose and I buried my face against the smooth skin of his neck and inhaled deeper, not even thinking about the right thing to do or not. I just wanted to experience every sense to the fullest. Touch. Smell. Sight.

Cat has lived an extremely sheltered life. She has little social experience, and when it comes to the opposite sex, she has next to none.

When I touched my lips to hers, my heart stopped. My world stopped spinning. Time stood still. It was the most breathtaking kiss I had ever experienced, her sweet lips melting beneath mine. Her body felt warm and soft pressed against me. I forgot that we were standing on the street. Hell, I forgot that we were standing on Earth. My entire existence shrank down to one single, solitary sensation - the feeling of her soft, full lips on mine.

Jace has had a hard life moving from one foster home to another and then spending several years in the army. He believes he is unworthy of Cat's love, but as time passes and his attraction towards her grows, he slowly starts to see things differently.

I'm still reading this book so I'm not sure where the story will go from here. Guess I'll find out soon.
