Teaser Tuesday # 126 ~ Kiro's Emily (Rosemary Beach #10) by Abbi Glines

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

My Tease for this week comes from:

Kiro's Emily
(Rosemary Beach #10)
by Abbi Glines

First - The Blurb:

The year is 1992, and no one on the rock music scene is hotter than Kiro Manning, the lead singer of Slacker Demon. With a multi-platinum record, total ownership of the Billboard charts, sold-out concerts, and sinful amounts of money, Kiro can have anything—and anyone—he wants.

So when a dark-haired, conservative beauty rebuffs him at a concert after-party, his first thought is, “Who the hell does she think she is?” His second thought: “How do I make her mine?” Kiro has always loved a good challenge, but not every girl wants to get involved with a rock god. Especially this girl.

He let her go that night, but he never forgot her. And when they met again, he vowed not to give up again so easily.

As the world worshipped Kiro, he came to worship the girl, who became everything he never knew he needed. The only girl he would ever love. His Emily.

Second - The Tease:

In every lifetime, I believe that each soul is given one mate. Don’t get me wrong, I think that a person can fall in love more than one time. But finding your soul mate is a different matter altogether. You don’t just love that person, you adore him or her. That person is your world. Your reason for living. The one thing in this life that will make everything OK. When you find your soul mate, you’ve found your purpose. To love that one person. To experience life with that one person.
... Kiro

Kiro Manning is the lead singer of Slacker Demon, a rock band which has made numerous appearances throughout the Rosemary Beach series. Finally being able to read his and Emily's story even though I knew how it would end, was both sweet and heartbreaking.

Emily, young and innocent, is dragged into Kiro's world by her somewhat selfish cousin. Kiro, wild and untamed, sees Emily, and suddenly, everything in his world changes. She becomes 'it' for him and no one else will do. But he knows he has to move slow, and so their relationship starts out as a friendship. A friendship which grows and develops into a love which only comes around once in a life time.

Abbi has done it again. A beautiful story told only the way she can tell it.

My Rating: 5 out of 5
