Feature & Follow is a blog hop hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. The purpose is to meet new people and gain more followers in the book blogging community. If this is your first time here, welcome! You are about to make some new friends and gain new followers. But you have to know, the point of this hop is to follow other bloggers also. I follow you, you follow me.
This weeks question:
How have your reading habits changed in the past few years? Did you get interested in a new genre? Do you read more? Less? Why do you think your habits changed, if they did.
Have I changed my reading habits?
For a while there, I only read YA paranormal / fantasy romance. Then one day I came across a book from a different genre - NA Contemporary. And I loved it. Now I happily skip between the two.
Do I read more or less often?
I think over the past couple of years I have increased the amount I read, largely because since I started blogging, I have discovered so many new books which I just can't resist.

Hopping through. I've gone through phases with contemporary fiction. Lately, I've been reading it a lot.

Both great genres I really need to read more of, Marilyn! Finding quality books in new genres is the best! :D Happy Friday!

Same here! When I was in fifth grade(6 years ago) to first year high school, I only read fantasy/paranormal because that's when the vampire books became a hit. Then, I found out about contemporary romance, and it's been my favorite genre for a while. :)

I'm reading a lot more romance than I have in the past. I want to get back to paranormal but for some reason the books that call to me are romance.
ReplyDeleteOld follower here!
ReplyDeleteI bounce back and forth between several genres, although when I sign up for tours, I tend to pick the paranormal ones!

*ha* I guess blogging has also increased the number of books I read, Marilyn. But it's also because my kids got older. (does that get a happy face for frowny face?!?) I have read TONS of NA in the last year. I tend to get into one genre and stick there for a period of time...then switch. Happy Friday!!
ReplyDeleteSo true Marilyn..I too give credit to blogging which introduced me to so many new and varied books..:)

I would read more NA myself, but none of them tend to be paranormal. All contemp and I just can't handle contemps anymore.
ReplyDeleteBut blogging has opened me up to dystopian and of course lots of new authors!
Here's my Follow Friday
Have a GREAT day!

I love reading new genres and new authors. NA is a new favorite for me! New Bloglovin follower
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree that blogging has made me read more than I usually do (which is a lot anyway). Old follower.

I've really gotten into NA Comtemporary, too, especially after reading Addicted to You by Krista & Becca Ritchie. I agree with you, too, that blogging has gotten me reading more. :)

I used to be more into mystery and paranormal types of books, but through the years I've found myself veering more towards contemporary romance! Hopefully blogging can help me be more open to other genres as well. Have a great weekend! :)

I'm definitely enjoying a few more NA contemporary than before too :) Thanks to the internet and Goodreads, I'm discovering a lot of books that I wouldn't have picked up otherwise :D Happy Friday!

I like NA too. At first I didn't even know what it was as a genre, but now I like it. :) Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!
