Teaser Tuesday # 26 City of Glass

Just before I post this weeks Tease, I thought I would share an exciting moment with you.
Yesterday, I received a small package in the mail which I had been expecting.
Want to guess what it was?

Yes, my author copies of

MYSTERY FALLS

As any Indie author may tell you, it is exciting to see your written words in eBook form, but to see them in Paperback, is surreal.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

As I am still caught up in reading The Mortal Instruments, my teaser for this week comes from Book 3 - City of Glass

First - The Blurb:

To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters - never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.

As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadowhunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadowhunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies. But can Downworlders and Shadowhunters put aside their hatred to work together? While Jace realizes exactly how much he's willing to risk for Clary, can she harness her newfound powers to help save the Glass City - whatever the cost?

Love is a mortal sin and the secrets of the past prove deadly as Clary and Jace face down Valentine in the final installment of the New York Times bestselling trilogy The Mortal Instruments.

Second - My Thoughts:

It is stated above that this is the final in the series, (Blurb obtained from Goodreads). However, as many of you know, that is not the case. There are three more to follow - thank goodness. I'm really enjoying this series and would have hated for it to end here.

Once again, Cassandra Clare does not disappoint. There is loads of action and many of the questions which are raised in the first two are finally answered. Of course, that doesn't mean that this is the end to the story. Far from it. There are so many different directions things can go from here and I can't wait to read on.

Not meaning to spoil things for anyone who hasn't yet immersed themselves  in this series, but I have to say how happy I was to discover that Clary and Jace are not actually brother and sister, something I suspected throughout the second book. Now the real romance can begin.

My Rating for this one: again, 5 out of 5

Third - My Tease:

Sorry, but I had difficulty choosing so I decided to give you three instead of one. Hope you enjoy them.

“There is no pretending," Jace said with absolute clarity. "I love you, and I will love you until I die, and if there is life after that, I'll love you then.”

***

“You could have had anything else in the world, and you asked for me."
She smiled up at him. Filthy as he was, covered in blood and dirt, he was the most beautiful thing she'd ever seen.
"But I don't want anything else in the world.”

***

“And now I’m looking at you,” he said, “and you’re asking me if I still want you, as if I could stop loving you. As if I would want to give up the thing that makes me stronger than anything else ever has. I never dared give much of myself to anyone before – bits of myself to the Lightwoods, to Isabelle and Alec, but it took years to do it – but, Clary, since the first time I saw you, I have belonged to you completely. I still do. If you want me.”
