Weekly Reminisces #3

Another hectic month and little time to blog. Yep! I definitely should re-title this post to 'Monthly Reminisces'.

So, what's been happening? Well apart from the usual family and work commitments, I have managed to read a few books since my last post. I didn't read them quite in the way I planned. I had expected to follow up A Court of Mist and Fury with A Court of Wings and Ruin, but my daughter decided that keeping the book until 'Mother's Day' was a better idea. As a result, I got caught up in re-reading a few of my 'Colleen Hoover favorites' - Ugly Love, Hopeless and Losing Hope, and am only now returning to my original plan. I have read a few reviews on  A Court of Wings and Ruin and am expecting great things from this third installment.

Books read in May:

A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses #3)
by Sarah J. Maas

Looming war threatens all Feyre holds dear in the third volume of the #1 New York Times bestselling A Court of Thorns and Roses series.

Feyre has returned to the Spring Court, determined to gather information on Tamlin's maneuverings and the invading king threatening to bring Prythian to its knees. But to do so she must play a deadly game of deceit-and one slip may spell doom not only for Feyre, but for her world as well.

As war bears down upon them all, Feyre must decide who to trust amongst the dazzling and lethal High Lords-and hunt for allies in unexpected places.

In this thrilling third book in the #1 New York Times bestselling series from Sarah J. Maas, the earth will be painted red as mighty armies grapple for power over the one thing that could destroy them all.

Weekly Reminisces #2

Okay, so maybe the title of this post should be 'Monthly Reminisces' since it has been another while since I last posted. Oh well, never mind. I'm here now and hopefully this time there won't be such a long gap.

So..... what have I been up to?

The main two things in life which are currently keeping me busy are my family (whom I adore) and work commitments (which I enjoy).

I am also in the process of writing my next novel, something a little different from Mystery Falls. I don't wish to give anything away at this early stage, but I will mention that there are no angels, no vampires and no werewolves.

In the meantime, let me tell you what I've been reading:

March:

I really enjoy Katie McGarry's writing so it came as no surprise to me that Long Way Home was a great read and an excellent continuation of the series.
Cruel and Beautiful was okay but not a favorite.

I can't say that I really enjoyed the Gypsy Brothers series. It was a little too violent for my taste.

April:

Claudia Gray, another one of my top favorite authors, and once again, she did not disappoint with this trilogy.

Fateful, I liked the way Ms. Gray tied the story to the Titanic. Very nicely done.

Till Death was an interesting read. Definitely one I would recommend to fans of JLA.

A Court of Mist and Fury (A Court of Thorns and Roses #2)
by Sarah J. Maas

Feyre survived Amarantha's clutches to return to the Spring Court—but at a steep cost. Though she now has the powers of the High Fae, her heart remains human, and it can't forget the terrible deeds she performed to save Tamlin's people.

Nor has Feyre forgotten her bargain with Rhysand, High Lord of the feared Night Court. As Feyre navigates its dark web of politics, passion, and dazzling power, a greater evil looms—and she might be key to stopping it. But only if she can harness her harrowing gifts, heal her fractured soul, and decide how she wishes to shape her future—and the future of a world cleaved in two.

With more than a million copies sold of her beloved Throne of Glass series, Sarah J. Maas's masterful storytelling brings this second book in her seductive and action-packed series to new heights.

I am currently re-reading this as the next book in the series A Court of Wings and Ruin was just released and I needed to refresh my memory.

Its been a long time since I last posted on my blog. "Why?" I might hear you ask. The answer is simple... Life!

And... I needed a break.

I love blogging about the books I read and the books I write, and I love connecting with people who share my passion. So, I have returned, fresh and revitalized.

Although the title of this post says weekly, it is more of a recap of the last 4 months.

Lets start with what I read during this time:

Sadly, nothing
