Second - The Swoon:

His throat convulses as he swallows hard, then he reaches up and brushes long fingers along my jaw. "I want you too."

The smile disappears from my lips and I kiss him... with all the passion I've been feeling since I met him.

His hands cup my face and his lips meet mine. The touch is soft at first, but soon grows heated as I scoot closer to him, my arms around his neck. I push him back on the couch and am soon the aggressor, kissing him, my hands in his hair.

Reaching behind his head he drags the shirt over his head and tosses it aside. I slide my hands along the chiseled planes of his chest, his abdomen, and the sides of his mouth curve into a mischievous grin that I feel all the way to my toes.

There are two bad boys in this story - Ryder and Deklan. Ryder is the flirtatious type, while Deklan is a little more reserved. Attracted to both of them, Kenzie is not sure which one she likes more. Eventually though, she does finally make a decision.

Can you guess which bad boy she's kissing?

Hint: it's probably not the one you think it is.

My skin vibrates when a feminine sigh escapes her lips - a sound of longing. Lila shifts and I take advantage by wrapping an arm around her body. She weaves her fingers into my hair and pulls me closer. My blood heats and so does our kiss.


What can I say, Katie McGarry has done it again with this Novella. Definitely a must read.

My Swoon for this week comes from:

Second - The Swoon(s):

Swoon 1

He reaches out and grabs my arm. He drags me to him along the sand. My dress bunches up, more sand than fabric, but I don't care.

He pulls me into his arms and holds me tight.

He is the one pocket of warmth in a sea of ice. Being in his arms feels like the home I never had. He's still panting his laugh that rumbles through his chest. My chest moves with his making me smile.

Swoon 2

"Your world is so different from mine. Do you guys have anything in common with humans?"

He looks at me with those killer eyes in that perfect face over his Adonis body. "Nothing we'll admit to."

"There's no way around it, is there?" I ask. "We're mortal enemies and I should be trying to kill you and everyone like you."

He leans over, touches the tip of his forehead to mine, and closes his eyes. "Yes." His gentle breath caresses my lip as he says the word.

I close my eyes too, and try to focus on the warmth of his forehead resting on mine.

Unfortunately, there were not too many swoon worthy moments in the World After. However, I still enjoyed the story and am looking forward to reading Angelfall 3, which sadly, is not due for release until May 2015.
