Here’s this week’s question:

What is your guilty pleasure as far as reading? Is it a genre, or is it a certain type of book?

I don't consider reading itself as a guilty pleasure.

However,
some of the books I read do not always fall into Young Adult.
Should I feel guilty reading them?
I don't think so.

Renegade Angels is a great series written by Sylvia Day, but it is definitely not Young Adult.

Swoon Thursday # 31 Last Sacrifice

The fabulous girls over at YA Bound created this super HOT meme.

Here's how it works. From the book you're currently reading, or one you just finished, tell us what made you SWOON. What got your heart pounding, your skin tingling, and your stomach fluttering.

Shout it out on Twitter with the hashtag#YABound, post it here in the comments, or grab the adorable button above and share it on your blog!

* ~ * ~ * ~ *

I have just finished reading Book 6 from Richelle Mead's Vampire Academy series, so this week's Swoon comes from
Last Sacrifice.

First - The Blurb:

Rose Hathaway has always played by her own rules. She broke the law when she ran away from St. Vladimir's Academy with her best friend and last surviving Dragomir princess, Lissa. She broke the law when she fell in love with her gorgeous, off-limits instructor, Dimitri. And she dared to defy Queen Tatiana, leader of the Moroi world, risking her life and reputation to protect generations of dhampir guardians to come.

Now the law has finally caught up with Rose - for a crime she didn't even commit. She's in prison for the highest offense imaginable: the assassination of a monarch. She'll need help from both Dimitri and Adrian to find the one living person who can stall her execution and force the Moroi elite to acknowledge a shocking new candidate for the royal throne: Vasilisa Dragomir.

But the clock on Rose's life is running out. Rose knows in her heart the world of the dead wants her back...and this time she is truly out of second chances. The big question is, when your whole life is about saving others, who will save
you
?

Second - My Thoughts:

WOW!!! What an ending.

Without  a doubt, Last Sacrifice is my favorite book in this series. The way Richelle ties it altogether is absolutely amazing and I thoroughly enjoyed reading every word.

Of course, the fact that Rose and Dimitri finally get their 'Happy Ever After' may have had a little something to do with it.

And... I should mention that I do feel sorry for Adrian, but my understanding is that his life is about to change, and hopefully, he won't be alone for too long.

My Rating for this one - 5 out of 5

Third - My Swoon:

"I don't belong to anyone. I make my own choices."

"And you're with Adrian," said Dimitri.

"But I was meant for you."

And that did it. Any pretense of control or reason either of us possessed melted away. The walls crumbled, and everything we'd been holding back from each other came rushing out. I reached up, pulling us together for a kiss---a kiss he didn't let go this time. A kiss I didn't end by punching him. His arms encircled me as he lifted me onto the bed, one hand soon sliding along my hip and down to my leg, already half-bare, thanks to that poor tattered dress.

Every nerve in my body lit up, and I felt that desire returned in him---and then some. After a world of death, he seemed to appreciate love more. Not only that, he needed it. He needed life. He needed me---not just physically, but in the same way my heart and soul always cried out for him. What we did then, as our clothes came off and we brought out bodies together became more than just lust---even though there was plenty of that too.

I apologize for it being a bit long but it was just too difficult to cut this scene short.

Teaser Tuesday #30 - Spirit Bound

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:
  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) "teaser" sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (Make sure that what you share doesn't give too much away! You don't want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

* ~ * ~ * ~ *

As some of you might know, I'm currently reading my way through the Vampire Academy series so this weeks tease comes from Book 5 - Spirit Bound.

First - The Blurb:

Dimitri gave Rose the ultimate choice. But she chose wrong...

After a long and heartbreaking journey to Dimitri's birthplace in Siberia, Rose Hathaway has finally returned to St. Vladimir's-and to her best friend, Lissa. It is nearly graduation, and the girls can't wait for their real lives beyond the Academy's iron gates to begin. But Rose's heart still aches for Dimitri, and she knows he's out there, somewhere.

She failed to kill him when she had the chance. And now her worst fears are about to come true. Dimitri has tasted her blood, and now he is hunting her. And this time he won't rest until Rose joins him... forever.

Second - My Thoughts:

My !My! My! I'm beginning to think Dimitri is part cat. Several times now he has been knocking on deaths door, and each time he manages to escape the ultimate end.

But obviously that's a good thing otherwise he and Rose would never have a chance. And I so want them to have a chance.

Am I still liking the story? Heck Yes!

Am I disappointed that the romance between these two seems to be limited? Definitely!

Will the Last Sacrifice finally see them together? I can only hope.

My Rating continues to be 4 out of 5  for this series, but only because I'm a person who lives for the swoon worthy moments. Something I would have liked to see more of.

Third - My Teaser:

He put his face right up to mine, so close that our foreheads touched. "Roza..." he murmured. His breath was warm and sweet against my skin. It seemed like it should have smelled like death and decay, but it didn't. "Why? Why did you have to be so difficult? We could have spent eternity together..."
